    Call of Duty: Black Ops Patch 1.06 Now Live; PS3 Fans Still Unsatisfied

    Activision and Treyarch have this morning confirmed that the latest update for the PlayStation 3 version of Call of Duty: Black Ops, Patch 1.06, is now live and available to download from the PlayStation Network for free. Patch 1.06 fixes a number of issues, but according to the fanbase that have already received the update, may still be falling short of expectations. Below follows the details of what Call of Duty: Black Ops Patch 1.06 contains, however, over on the official Call of Duty: Black Ops forums, it appears the fans are less than happy with the update, with one user claiming, "This is the most ridiculous update ever in gaming history."

    New Features:
    * • New contracts added to the rotation.
    * • Added optional pre-match timer for LAN / System-Link games.

    Issues Addressed:
    * • Fixed freeze associated with larger games.
    * • Improved reliability of players connections to one another.
    * • Improved ability to bring parties to the game lobby. Late party joiners would try to connect to previous lobby host and be denied if new joiners trigger a lobby host migration.
    * • Addressed an issue where the Host encounters and infinite spinning loading circle after a Host migration.
    * • Fixed a timing specific, long/infinite loading screen when joining games (sometimes giving you “Error - Read error (0x80010713) on file <map name>").
    * • Fixed a timing-specific freeze when host powered down during host migration.
    * • Cleaned up the map search filter in the Community section (deleted unused entries).
    * • Fixed Combat Training’s "USE FRIENDS" option for bots names.
    * • Fixed issue with split-screen guest profile names being blank, resulting in matches never launching.
    * • Instead of showing the generic “Player” for offline profiles in LAN, we now display the PS3 profile name.
    * • Fixed Friends list appearing after viewing a Friends Playercard from the Leaderboards.
    * • Fixed filter so players can now view Friends on Zombies leadboards.
    * • Fix timing specific issue where the game can be put into slow motion.
    * • Addressed "disconnected path" error when using the doors in Radiation after a host migration.
    * • Fixed stability issues navigating lobbies after client on Split Screen Zombies quits out of a game.
    * • Addressed issue/exploit when removing Counter Spy Plane effects with the Jammer.
    * • Fixed a freeze when quickly loading maps one after another in private match.
    * • Fixed issue where players get primary weapons in Second Chance.
    * • Fixed “
    NEW” stamp not disappearing for Custom Slot 9 when highlighting the slot.
    * • Removed water vision effect when respawning after dying in the acid pool in Radiation.
    * • Several contract fixes.

    Gameplay Tuning:
    * • Second Chance – players that put an enemy into Second Chance are now credited for a full kill once that enemy dies. If another player kills the enemy while the enemy is in Second Chance, they will get assist credit.
    * • Adjustments to the PSG1 with attachments.
    * • AK74U adjustments.
    * • RCXD adjustments.
    * • Silenced sniper rifle adjustments.
    * • Removed hit markers when shooting friendly equipment

    On patch 1.06 and a list of issues like that, that have supposidly been fixed just shows how screwed and ****ed up this game is for the PS3.

    Thoroughly disappointed in the horrible presentation of this game. I thought that when the next latest and greatest in a series comes out that it's supposed to be better than its predecessor. I would play MW2 any day of the week even with all of the hackers (i've been hacked and lost all of my stats) than play this awful piece of crap again. Maybe they should have fixed the awful hit detection and obvious massive advantage given to the team with the host player. Frame issues, 'nuff said.

    I haven't had as many issues as I had before with the last patch. It isn't completely unplayable for me like it was before. I hope the patch works to clear things up but if its worse ill just buy Dead Space 2 and play that.

    Would be nice if the split screen guest could use their "own" account. Because of this my friend and i have gotten back into R2 where you can do it. Maybe one day it'll happen. Well i can dream can't i?

    • RCXD adjustments. again WTF,
    • Silenced sniper rifle adjustments- this is good, many times i have the cross hairs on people head and nothing happens.

    I honestly didn't notice the AK74u adjustments, I do like what they did to last stand though. It's about the best thing they could have done, other than completely removing it, which would be really nice.

    RCXD adjustments as in when you (the enemy) shoot it, it actually explodes ?

    Besides that, I still seem to get the screen glitching in the network menu if I decide to check my in-game xmb. Maybe it's my copy?

    does any one get... when you joing a game and look around a lot of the enviroment is this blue shiny pixled mess ??

    and you cant see your gun for about 30 seconds ??

    I have noticed a huge drop in ranged fire damage... maybe its me, but does anyone have exact details on what they did to the AK74u?

    Help would be greatly appreciated.

    After some more playtime, I have noticed a difference at distance. I just dont take it that far very often, I use it like a normal smg. Also I've been using the G11 way more on the bigger maps.

    did they really did a patch for this game because I'm still getting freezing, and for some reason when i put the sniper gun crosshairs on the guy head and shoot nothing happens. i then fire 2 more shots and nothing happens. what kind of patch is this, an imaginary patch.
