i think steady would take less talent because its something they can repeate over and over again. Between the Buried and Me or Meshuggah play some of the most complicated complex metal songs ever. BTBAM specifically is highly complex and technical which requires incredible talent. Meshuggah has some ****ed up rhythmes but more people could grasp it.

The state of Metal these days depresses me. Most newer Metal is terrible and uninspired.
Also, if you want to hear technical metal check out -- Psyopus and (older) Ion Dissonance."Our virtues and our failings are inseparable, like force and matter. When they separate, man is no more."
Currently Playing: L.A. Noire

never thought much of technical metal. I mean, technical is good when you consider bands like Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Eric Sardinas, etc etc but for metal, it definitely doesn't work for me. Reason being is there are way to many sweeps, a lot less melody hardly any thrash, the more technical the less thrash, never liked it much. It can actually get to the point where the band thinks they are player Technical metal but they are not.

^ Speaking of Born of Osiris, their new album is pretty good as well.
Also, I got the new Between the Buried and Me EP yesterday and, as expected, it is truly amazing. These guys just get better and better.

ROFL! here's one from Minnesota :X not to bad actually, I kind of enjoy listening to them, it seems odd but it's catching. Although I never heard of these guys a week ago
pretty cool for speed if your into that stuff, I'm not but this one isn't that bad. The singing is odd but somehow fits the band.

My favorite album from Between the buried in me is still colors, such an awesome music experience.
BTBAM have one of the most unique styles in metal these days in my opinion.
I liked the first 3 Born of Osiris albums more then the last one, maybe i need to give it another shot

I just went to see Rammstein last Friday; it was insane, best show ever... and I've been to many; if you ever get a chance then don't miss out or you'll regret it. Iron Maiden puts up a great show too, although they are more about the scenery while Rammstein is all about the pyrotechnics.
Megadeth and Slayer were crazy too, lots of older metalheads but they kicked *** even more.Thou shall not question my lame sig

I've seen Rammstein live, and I wasn't impressed. Fire and other odd shenanigans like spraying fake cum out of a dildo don't make up for bad music. The same goes for Gwar. Silly gimmicks, bad music.
Of course that's just my humble opinion. If others liked the show...great.
On the subject of Tool, I've seen them on the Lateralus tour, and they were absolutely amazing.

I've seen Tool five times now - three times at their own gigs, and twice at festivals. They are midblowingly good live.
I can't really recall anything from 2010 that really grabbed me, to be honest. This year's had a few damn good albums so far though, namely the new Cavalera Conspiracy and DevilDriver albums. Brutal as f**k. Although I can't say I'm impressed with The Haunted's new album. I've always preferred the albums they did with Dolving on vocals, but they haven't made a consistently good album since Revolver.
