I dont think linking the image will work properly and I couldn't make it a thumbnail view anyways.
Anyways, here are NPD sales results that trace back to the laucnh frames of both the XBox and the PS2 and compare the sales figures to the 360.

Some of you may remember me saying last month that it was really bad news that the 360 was starting into new markets in its first year like India.. It struck me as odd that MS would make a move like that as if the major territories had already been saturated, but that may be exactly what happened.
Well, here's hoping for a strong Indian launch!

Nothing sells in India unless its pirated. I should know I lived there
If you visit India now and go to video game stores all you would find is playstation.

Lefein,
You're smart enough to know that the Xbox 360 launch was stronger in America because it wasn't a WorldWide launch. This is comparing the 360 in America vs. Xbox when you should make a whole comparison.
It would be like comparing the PS2 sales in Japan vs. PS3 sales in Japan in the first months. Obviously, PS3 will win because SOny now need to distirbute their hardware in all the world.
Sorry my friend no offense but this chart proves nothing and it's quite pointless.

Actually, Sega had plenty of third party support, just not EA. Of course you know what I think of EA, right?

And actually, these numbers look like those I've seen quoted in Microsoft statements. Remember, America is where 360 sells decently. Now writing: two Ratchet & Clank novels, a Sly 4 novel, and two rock albums

IMO unless you can provide a link that says otherwise this is the most accurate we have thus far.

Ahh, manipulated statistics at their finest....
Where do we start...
1) The Xbox 1 comparison does not take into account World Wide totals.
2) The PS2 comparison compares from the PS2 US launch which started 8 months after initial production of the PS2 which meant they could supply consoles more steadily at launch and continuing there after. Compared to the PS2 launch in Japan alone, it is ahead worldwide
3) The Xbox360 is launching in India not because they have excess consoles, but because its the right thing to do. No country should be treated as 3rd class citizens for a product. MS is launching as fast as they can across the entire world while still suppling consoles to the major markets. While some here may not appreciate it, those in India will appreciate the fact that MS gave them the console now, rather than making them wait over 3 years after the main launch like Sony did with the PS2.This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights. The question is siren will it sell without a modchip. 99% of the PS2's in India are modded and only pirated games are played.
And you don't think Microsoft ones are not, how about nintendo. All fanboys are annoying......
I like making fun of people who are in love with the Hardware not the games
I am a game fanboy.....You say anything about Square-Enix and I kick your ass

I really couldn't care less about any sales figures skewed or otherwise. I enjoy my 360 and there are plenty of quality titles coming to keep me happy. They are selling enough consoles that 3rd party developers are able to make substantial money off the games. That is all that matters.
From a business perspective I could argue the academic points here, but from a gamer perspective, I get plenty of value from my 360. There isn't a chart or graph that can negate that.

It's actually quite hard to really say which is doing better. Looking at the total sales at this point in the console's life, the XBox360 is selling less than the original XBox in terms of total sales in North America. However, right now monthly sales of the XBox360 are stronger than the original XBox at a similar point in the life time. The reason I'm a little hesistant to say XBox360 is doing better due to its monthly sales is because of the initial supply of the console being so low. XBox360's mostly unavailable during the first holiday season preventing any initial surge in sales and the severe drop after the surge that typically follows. Every other console usually has a big spike in the beginning of it's life cycle that is equal to the initial supply of the console. XBox360 very limited supply provided an inital peak less than twice of what is considered a strong monthly sales number. So it makes a bit of sense that the following monthtly sales will be stronger since consumers couldn't get the console earlier during the holiday season. Of course, it is good news that people who were more aware of the console's abilities still bought one. The real measure for how well the XBox360 is doing compared to the original will be how high the peak goes this holiday season.
