I'm really digging the crossbow! I like that it's a sidearm instead of a primary weapon, which makes for completely new encounters. Will take a while to unlock the different types of bolts though...

I really have to figure out the "bullet" drop with the crossbow. As of right now I can only use it as a close quarters weapon because I can't hit anything that is a bit further away.

Definitely has potential though for quietly taking out enemies.

So from what I am seeing the crossbow is way over powered except from the AC-130 damage to it the jet looked fine I have also read they weakend the AC-130 completely with its weapons like weapon splash damage

It's not over powered.

Alot were discussing how it will change balance make medic/assualt class super awesome and invincible and that was BEFORE the DLC even released.
And now people are actively looking for ways to back up their claims by destroying AC-130 and jets or takign out a whole squad in 1 shot of te crossbow.

Again, it is not over powered. Not in the slightest.

The fire rate alone is so slow that your shot HAS to connect or else you're dead. And if you want to switch between different arrow types it takes 2-3 seconds to even do that. Some people are just constantly complaining...

Thats what I was thinking. People complain too much. Back in the 90's and early 2000 we just played games for what they were nobody caed the golden gun or the devastator, RCP90 or laptop gun was OP, we just had fun rampaging each other.

Yes, I mean cause if you're not quick and accurate whilst shooting the crossbow you're pretty much done for, so basically xbow takes more skill and it's harder than just shooting a machine gun.

Yea I gatehr that from soem other games. Crossbow is one of my favourite weapons in HL2DM and if can bounce it off walls and stuff GREAT!!!!

Damn cannto bounce it off walls and stuff and the fnny part is it leave bullet holes, there is never a bolt stuck in any sturcture.

OK so I can play this aftermath DLC and have used the crossbow and like others said in this thread it is far from OP. Its not easy to use and the bolts are hard to see when in the air I think they are too small to be honest. And if the enemy ios a dstance away it is often 2 shots but gettign 2 shots on a person is hard because of the long reload makes it practically useless at distance unless its a headshot.

Th best part is yesterday I managed to get a double kill with 1 bolt, how that happened I do not know.


1 thing is bugging me abotu the way we use the crossbow, its in gadget slots and every class except support its ont he first slot meaning we have to use a different key to use that weapon.

I created a thread at the batlog for this, see how it plays out

All the classes except Support use the first slot for the crossbow.
I find this confusing.

Anyone else having issue's with the control's after this last update?? I mean random weapon switching, going prone and/or reloading?
I am just pressing L3 and all this is happening. I checked my other controllers and all 3 of them are doing it.

The controls for me have improved! Input lag really seems to be completely gone! As smooth as ever!

And I finally unlocked every bolt and the scoped version of the Xbow, it is very versatile now!

Haven't even been able to unlock most of the new assignments, and now they give us those brand new carbon fiber good looking tags lol.

My accuracy with the normal crossbow is 40.9% and 39.8% for the scoped one.

Downloading Aftermath right now. Kind of excited! Got a new 46" 1080p tv recently, might revive my love for BF3 tbh!
