What is the "grand deal" and GOP? Why am I being dragged into this? Because I don't like re-electing people that haven't done what the campaigned about? Is it automatic that someone likes the other candidate if he dislikes the other? wtf

The bolded doesn't make sense, because alot of economists don't care for Obama. In particular the Austrian school of thought.

I've taken 'classes' in these topics as well, and I don't agree with the man either. Or Romney, for that matter.

And there -is- a better option then either of these clowns: Gary Johnson.

I guess in their mind if the shoe fits. Man they can not understand why they elect or re-elected someone that does an terrorism type job in office for four years

No, usually I'm not aware of things that are randomly named by others. I've definitely read about the negotiations about reducing the debt, but never saw "grand deal" being used as a name for it.

Just remember, if you don't vote for Obama, you're a racist con. Also remember that if you don't vote for Romney, you're a lazy, whining, free-loading, good-for-nothing-47%er liberal.

As for me? I'll just have to be content with being a wacko, anarchist, isolationist Paulbot. It's a tough role to endure but someone has to. It's for the good of the children after all.

It's neat, but kinda arbitrary. I mean, you can put any two names in that, and it all makes the same sense.

well yeah... its purely based on electoral math... not the candidates themselves.

But I think it will be neat to watch how the race unfolds with this tool

I know what Romney is, do you know what Obama is?

I'll say it, either way whatever happens on Tuesday, we all lose.

The difference is I'm not going to be deluded by Obama's attempts to hide how ineffective he is.

Even if he wins, Congress is likely to be in greater control by Republicans which pretty much means Obama is going to have to play nicely, if the want to try and accomplish anything.

As opposed to Romney who actually will be able to accomplish things since he didn't piss off the other side as much (which unlike the Republicans, hasn't had control of congress since 2010)

But go ahead and support the 4 more years line, I guess that is what it will take for you to see what a joke Obama is. At either pleasing his side or getting things done in general.

What's worse is that it doesn't really matter what Obama does, doesn't do, etc. He doesn't have another election to win if he wins tomorrow. He doesn't have to play nicely, and doesn't really have to want to accomplish anything. That isn't exclusive to Obama. That's every second term President for the USA.

if you really want to fix the federal government:

    term limits for congressmen
    repeal citizens united
and I would even make a presidency last 1 term- 6 years

Term limits for congressman is something that pretty much everybody seems to agree on- yet it never happens. It's one of those things where no session of congress would ever pass (since it hurts them) unless there were pitchforks and torches outside the capitol building.

I'd also be interested in seeing a sort of one term presidency. That'd be interesting..

Could we also agree on putting a campaign contribution and spending cap?

    YES!

everyone should be offended by the amount of money thrown around.

And if you are anything other than a 1%... you should be very uneasy about whether or not YOU and your interests are being represented when Corportations and wealthy individuals are throwing mountains of money into the pot.

You really think anyone throws that kind of cash around and doesn't expect something in return?

You and I are on a roll now, Daywalker.

Can we also agree, then, that all campaign contributions should be unilaterally transparent so we can see the amount and who sent what?

Further, can we degrade treatment as corporations as 'people' altogether?
