No, you haven't. The only thing you've ever mentioned was that Republicans don't appeal to everyone. You've never mentioned the disrespect and disregard of Republicans for Independents and Libertarians. Not once. You've also never mentioned the disrespect and disregard of Democrats for Independents and Libertarians. Not once.

I have stated on more than one occasion that Paul's biggest problem is the republican party. You were just caught up in all the Ron Paulness to notice.You don't have to believe it but it's true. As far as as Democrats disregarding him. Can you blame them. The guy was never a threat to them because of the reason I gave already.(they knew he would never get anywhere because he wasn't extreme enough)

As for Paul's relevance, his message resonated with far more people than the establishment ever gave credit for. He polled better than Romney against Obama and actually beat Obama in most polls. He had the highest military contribution than all the other candidates, COMBINED. Paul was far from un-electable and deep down, you know damn well it's the truth. As for his age, at the age of 77, he is healthier than everyone else who ran. Your refusal to give due credit to the man says more about you than anything trivial you've posted and exposes you for what you really are, a closet Democrat.

No, you're wrong. If Herman Cain ran, he would have won. It would have split the black votes that Obama survived on.

I agree that there was massive "pride" voting by African-Americans, but I think you're overestimating how much influence the black vote had overall. For one thing, Blacks aren't the majority of the US population by any means, so I don't see where you're going with that. Also, Obama's effect, both in '08 and '12, played across minorities in general (not just African-Americans), women, and youth who collectively would be taking his side for multiple reasons. And now there's the gay community, it seems.

So based on that, it seems highly unlikely that Herman Cain could win from black votes alone. The ONLY thing I could see that guy getting is the black pride vote (and not nearly as many of them)...and that's it. So I guess he would lose miserably..?

Racial voting played a significant part in this race, perhaps the greatest yet seen in America's history, but it was by no means the most definitive factor in terms of one particular group (racial or otherwise). If we have learned anything during these past years, it's that a more homogeneous America further obligates candidates to look toward every group. As it has been said in here already, Romney's gaffes and mind-changing alienated him from several of these groups and the white vote could not hold him up by itself.

I mean I get it, Obama is black and that allowed for a share of the many black votes, but he also had other surface-level attributes going for him that got people to consider him. He's not a boring old rich dude, he's a notably effective speaker, seems to be a likeable individual when you look beyond the political perspective, he really sells fundamental values in his speeches when it counts, even if he doesn't manage to live up to them in his efforts, and he appears to be a solid family man since nobody could dig up any dirt in that area. Right or wrong, people historically look at attributes like those, too, if I recall correctly, so those also drove his influence/votes beyond the black segment in both campaigns. If the GOP race for this campaign was any indication, Herman Cain is pretty much far less of or none of the above except black.

doesn't matter if Ron Paul didn't get it, what did happen was his voice was heard. A lot of people will take his thoughts and use some of them at least. He was also heard more by college kids, which also took what he said to heart. regardless on what people think about Ron Paul, he did open up a lot of people's eye's. Even that is an accomplishment in this world.

Some interesting firsts with this election. This is the first time a President has be re-elected with less votes than the previous election. This is also the first time a President has been re-elected with the unemployment over 7.2%.

The latter is especially interesting. What makes Obama different than the other Presidents who had a poor economy? Could it be because the black vote would be for him regardless of his actions? I know that's not a politically correct thing of me to say, but with 93% of the black vote going to Obama, it's not a baseless assumption.

I can't stand behind a guy that really does nothing to support the military, bailed out companies with out letting them redo union contracts, let two American ambassadors die(something that hasn't happened since 1979), did 5.1 trillion in debt in just 4 years, but most all is supporting people on welfare more than the hard working people whose tax dollars pay for those on welfare.

He has cut spending, now he is saying he is ending the war in Afghanistan the same thing he said two years ago, and talk about pulling the troops out, which again he started it two years ago but now saying he wants to do it. In Wisconsin and looks like Illinois military votes overseas will not be counted because they sent them out late, two states Obama won.

On the political scale he is not. Just because your politics is do skewed to the right doesn't make him a lefty or a socialist. That is akin to making the argument that a workers party is tight wing in the former soviet union. No its not, its still quite left. Just not as left as the communist party.

If we have the most power, there is no need to lower it to the standards of a country that might attack us.

Increase spending? No. Decrease spending? Not enough to weaken us significantly.
