Ok you really need to realize that the gm bailout Is a different thing from stimulus. So the stimulus did not help gm at all. You take every chance to skew and manipulate what people say to create this parody of republicans that is a fabrication of your world view. "my boy hannity". Did you completly forget like a page ago when I called him a joke and a racist? But he must be my boy right? Cus it fits so snuggly into your narritive. Of course I'm not happy about unemployment...you honestly think I want the economy to collapse? Now I also think you assume I'm a Romney supporter. That's not true. This is really a clothes pin election for me. But what I do know is that Obama Stinks the most. Nobody is denying bush supplied the first bailout, as the 09 budget it was created under his watch but glad to see you'll fall back on him whenever convinent. Stimulus was bad whoever supplied and the QE2 under Obama and possible QE3 are awful mistakes. Couple that with his bloated budgets huge debts and wanton inflation, he is the absolute worst choice for president.

lol...just keep yourself deeper dude.
You say Obama is the worst choice for president but i'm sure you felt that way back in 2008 too...lol Get over it dude. The man isn't the cancer to this country as the right wing tries to make him out to be. The way I see it right now is he is the better choice of the two. I know the game though. Anybody but Obama. That is the right wing slogan.Gm Plant Gets U.s. Stimulus Money

Like I said before, its all politics dude. Or have you forgotten what the GOP pledge was on the day of the presidents inauguration.

Deeper into what exactly? Your parody? Your delusions? Back in 2008 I did think that Mccain was they best option but they did not have a record to run on. Now Obama has a record and its quite awful. This is democracy in action. The president is taking they contry on they wrong path and people are responding. They reason why its ” anybody but obama” as you put its is because he is doing real harm to this country with his economic policy. thank dear leader for high prices. Thank dear leader for high debt. Thank dear leader for high inflation. 4 more years of that surely will do us all good.

lol...riiiiiiiiiiight. "His economic policies are just driving us into the ground".(faux news propaganda...lol) "We were doing so great before he got into office". His record is no where near as bad as the GOP make it seem. The reason its "anybody but Obama" because its always been that way. Politics dude...all politics. Most democrats will still vote for Obama and the right will settle for Romney. Its funny that people claim to care so much about the country now, but turned a blind eye while Dubya spent 8 years taking us down this path. All this right wing "taking us down the wrong path crap". Was lying about weapons and deploying to Iraq taking us down the right path? See I can play politics just like you can....lol

btbam,
Here's an interesting study on the stimulus and the results, not too bad only about 30 pages. Not all highly educated people agree on the results of the stimulus, but at least they have opinions based on something relevant which is much more than I can say on some others.

Does anyone know the total amount we've spent on bankrupt green energy companies so far?

wes, the funny part here is that while Obama even admitted the stimulus package failed, Sub-stance1 still says it worked. LOL o.O it's true, some people you just have to put on ignore when they don't back up anything and just go to websites and read a paragraph. ROFL!!!
besides that, I am not really excited at all for anyone other then Ron Paul and the fact he wont make it just kind of makes this whole thing pointless now. I mean both sides right now other then that one man both have things I don't like and it's basically voting for the lesser evil, Romney Vs the other kind of Evil = Obama. 2012 kind of sucks o.O

More politics I see....Blame Obama while Republicans are just trying to out right-wing each other... I told ya. You wanna play the politics game. I can do it just as well as you can.
Ron Paul will never be President. You guys need to wake from that dream. He can't even get the support of his party. Go ahead and settle for Romney because he is "leader" of the party now, but really hasn't shown much leadership....lol Probably because he's too busy flip flopping month to month. I'm sure his right hand man, dumb Donald will guide him along the way.besides that, I am not really excited at all for anyone other then Ron Paul and the fact he wont make it just kind of makes this whole thing pointless now. quite indeed.
Well, i don't have a total number, but i do know solydra we dumped about 500 B into that sucker. Whole reason why that was such a disaster was basically they were producing panels more expensive than we could buy them from china. How much of that is chinese subsidies, i don't know, but it is clear they are going to need major innovation before solar panels are even viable in the U.S. Now the question is, should government be driving that innovation or should the private sector. The answer is obvious because private sector at least willfully invests knowing the risks, government just takes our money and invests in things we may not want (or afford)Last edited by btbam; 06-03-2012 at 04:51.

Was just reading an article on it, about 500M, but that's still a ton of money. Still, billions of tax payer dollars have been pumped into bankrupt "green" energy companies that are not sustainable. The interesting part is many of these companies have connections to Obama's administration through his advisers and staffers. Sounds like typical DC corruption at its finest.

Was reading about the auto bailouts, it looks like it will be quite some time before the tax payer funding if returned in full! Keep in mind, I am not 100% against helping the ailing industry out, I just think it was done poorly. It should have gone straight into Ch11 and then private equity would have followed once union contracts were restructured. I think it's pretty telling that private equity wouldn't touch the company with those bloated pensions that the company and the unions agreed to. Now, the union owns about 30% of the company after they were a big part of the reason it went under in the first place. The union should have taken just as much of a hit as everyone else did, not come out just about the only winners.

I think media has been way overhyping this issue on some fronts and been accurate on others. Some things i've heard them say was 1-this was a referendum on obama 2-the results of this election will be indicative of how it will go in november 3-this will impact other govenors etc.
On the first account i call bullshit. This is a referendum on Walker's policies. Its union vs. govt. as far as i'm concerned.
On the second account i also call bullshit. The polls are pretty close right now. Walker is in the lead and i expect he'll win by 4-5 points. not a huge victory but a W regardless. With it that close, it doesn't seem like it will really be a predictor for November.
On the third, i could see how this could work. "Right to work" is becoming more popular idea when states try to remain competitive to attract business. If Walker looses and the right to work legislation is reversed it could embolden other unions to fight in other states. if he wins, it could embolden govenors in other states to try the same.

gonna be interesting... my friends there say the national media has been spinning this whole thing every which way as well...
exit polls are interesting...
union voter turnout is up 7 points from 2010
voters who voted favor Obama 54 v 42...
but those are exit polls so grain of salt... not to mention a whole bunch of other factors out there.

Based on?
Funny thing is, Scott Walker basically did what he campaigned on, they are now running a surplus, and he's being recalled for it. I am glad the system is working, if the voters want him out he should be out, I just hope it's not because the unions over powered the people.Last edited by weskurtz81; 06-06-2012 at 02:28.
