I just figured it out!!! There's only one way we will get Obama out of the White House.... see video! I am convinced, this is 100% fool proof and most likely the only way we end up with a new Pres after the next election.

Fast and Furious scandal just became a bit more interesting. Obama plans to apply the 'executive privilege' to Eric Holder to resist the subpoena by the Oversight Committee. Technically it's legal because the Attorney General lives under the Executive Branch. The question i have is why would he need to extend the executive privilege to this situation? what is in there that needs to be hidden. My best guess is you can track the scandal back to the White House by following the paper trail. This whole scandal has my fascinated.

Fact is the scandal leads not only to the White House but most likely to Obama himself. Of course, Obama would want to extend the "executive privilege" to others. He knows he stands to be impeached if he is found out and he know that his administration stands to lose everything.

This whole project gun runner/fast and furious deal is pretty crazy. It's going to be interesting to see how this turns out.

Dubya started fast and furious back in 2006. The whole thing is nothing more than politics. Something that will just end up backfiring on them in the end.

So glad to see you will blame Bush for just about anything you can. Its uncanny. Truly. The program under bush was similar, but was in fact entirely separate and different. Starting in '06 and ending in 07' Operation Wide Receiver was pretty much a failed program. We lost track of the guns in Mexico, but several indictments were made in spite of that. Operation Fast and Furious began in Oct. of 2009, very much part of Obama's administration...Not only did we loose track of the guns, but they continually show up in Mexican crime scenes and resulted in the death of a U.S. citizen.
Using executive privilege means this is going to be mediated in the courts...which will take a long time. Its going to keep all the info under wraps until after the election. There is some incriminating evidence in those documents that links the White House or Obama to this scandal or shows that he had knowledge of it. Obama is such a bulwark of transparency like he campaigned on

Bullshit son... the whole ATF gunwalking sting operations started in 2006 under Dubya. This whole thing is nothing more than just politics. They are only going after Holder because he is overturning the voter suppression laws and challenging the anti-immigrant laws. If they really want to get to the bottom of this they would be interviewing the former AG as well as senior ATF officials. It's only gonna backfire on them in the end. This is just another obstruction attempt by the GOP. People will see right through it.
Oh, and don't forget Dubya used executive privilege about 5 or 6 times. One of those times was to deny a request by Congress for testimony and Clinton used it 13 times. Now its a big deal right...lol
The president has the right to invoke executive executive privilege to preserve the confidentiality of information and documents in the face of legislative inquiries. Booya!
All politics. Same story different day.

did you even read the post? There was an AFT sting in 06 yes...that ended in 07. There was than a SECOND one starting in 09...the one that is of current controversy. Holder hasn't overturned any "voter suppression laws" They are laws that protect against voter fraud. Requiring an ID is not suppression. Provide one sound argument that requiring and ID suppresses voters....It simply doesn't. The only thing people are going to see is the obstruction of Holder and the obama administration. why would he invoke executive privilege unless he was hiding something? The practice of executive privilege is not in question here...it is completely irrelevant that bush and clinton used it. I was merely pointing out hypocrisy of Obama pretending to be the most transparent president ever then obviously hiding something incriminating.

And I was pointing out the hypocrisy of the GOP. This is all political dude. You are pretty naive if you believe otherwise. There is no voter fraud. This is something that the GOP cooked up to deter minorities from getting to the polls to vote.( especially in Florida because they can't win the presidency without it.) Plain and simple. Like I said before, if they really want to get to the bottom of this whole operation they would be questioning the former AG as well as ATF officials. This is just another sad attempt by the GOP to get to the president but it wont work. And yes, they are going after Holder because of his stance on overturning voter suppression and anti immigrant laws. Holder is responsible for making sure voter suppression doesn't happen so they are going after him. Politics at its worst dude.
Even if the House follows the committee on oversight and governments reform's vote to hold him in contempt, the decision about whether to prosecute him will be left to a justice department run by.....Eric Holder. Republicans don't have much on the man. They even have the nerve to say he is an accessory to murder...lol This will all backfire on them. Don't forget this is a congress in a country where only 15% have a favorable view of the body.......and these antics surely won't help.
That dead agent's family deserves some answers but going after Holder and trying to embarrass the president won't solve anything. Asking for the guy's resignation is going too far.My opinion of course.Last edited by Sub-stance1; 06-22-2012 at 01:44.

Saying that the Pres and AG is directly involved in this is totally ludicrous. It just goes to show that this congress is the lowest of the low. No wonder they have such a low approval rating. They should be focusing on other things right now. This is all just more politics in an election year. We all know the real reason they are going after Holder.

It's looking more and more like Obama's chances of re-election are diminishing, good luck to Romney if he gets the nod at the end of the year.

I'm not sure about that. Obama has been trying his damnedest to cater to every constituent group imaginable. Pandering to students, youth, LGBT, hispanics with all of his shit lately. His liberal base is going to show strong for him this election. Question is how does the middle see him. I don't think thats going to go well for him. Bad economy is bad for all these recent grads.

not sure where you got that.
projected at 290 electoral votes... with multiple paths to 270... as opposed to Mittens who has one or two...
The economy is the only chance Mittens has. If it falls off a ledge close to the election then Obama is in trouble. If it rebounds from all this crap in Europe... which it looks to be... then Obama has it in the bagLast edited by DayWalker; 06-24-2012 at 16:36.

I'll re-phrase- Europe itself doesn't need to bounce back strongly... The American Economy just needs time to shelter itself from the fallout. Which... since this BS has been going on for over a year... we should have done a decent job of by now.
And if Europe trips... the US economy can expect a flood of global investors.

To me this election is on 2 things right now. The SCOTUS decision on the Healthcare law and the economy. The health care reform law is Obama's signature achievement. Whether it is given the thumbs up or down is going to have a huge impact. If its turned down, its going to be a shallow victory for Republicans because it will probably galvanize the liberal base because it could turn into "now you have to re-elect me so we can permanently reform etc. etc. etc." if its kept it could galvanize republicans. Of course the economy is going to be huge. If we continue to have bad jobs numbers until november, or we the DOW keeps getting hit etc. its going to be a tough sell for Obama. I still think Obama has the edge at this moment in time. If we are static between now in nov. it will be his W. but we obviously will have a health care decision (maybe tomorrow) which will be a game changer and the economy will probably fluctuate. which way? who knows, but i'm inclined to think Europe will bring it donw.

Well, state/local law enforcement will still be able to ask for legal status, but the following items were overturned:
-it's not a crime for illegals to be present and seek employment
-police officers can't make warrantless arrests if they feel they have probable that someone committed a deportable offense
There was another part that was struck down as well.
I don't have a problem with them striking these two down and upholding the other portion, makes sense to me."you are both the product and the architect of your environment"

Something Obama just said that i find very interesting. Basically he said the federal govt. won't commit ISA or policing power to enforce this law. Is it not one of the duties of the president to ENFORCE our laws? Like it or not, he is duty bound to enforce our laws, but whatevs. lets just let him pick and choose what he wants to without the legislation branch at all.
