I think it's time to just move on lol. There's much better Metal out there than Bullet For My Valentine.

Well I've been a fan since The Poison. I like them but they have Chille downhill for me.

I don't know what the fuck happened. They sound nothing like they did on any of their previous albums. Terrible lyrics, Michael Paget-unlike solos, just a complete mess. I hope they turn their shit around.

Absolutely! That album is amazing. Looking forward to their next album. Although it isn't likely until next year.

It's all due to Maynard being a perfectionist right? I'm sure it is a bitch making an album with him.

Didn't it take like 6 years or something crazy like that to do 10000 Days? Seems like I remember hearing this. I could be way off though.

yep it took around 6 years or slightly longer... But they like the long process i guess.

I am happy to wait until next year to get my hands on the new album

Tool's wikipedia will give you a full Album cap history. Here is the link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tool_discography

If you want to learn more

This is an awesome live performance of SODER

    Title: Continue...
    Artist: Wax
    Year: 2013
    Genre: Hip-hop
    Rating: A-
Review: Wax covers a variety of topics on this album, from drugs to relationships to the usual braggadocios lyricism, and he tackles these subjects with both solemnity and humor. Some of his funnier songs are absolutely riotous, especially the incredibly NSFW raunchfest "She Used to Be Mine," in which Wax paints a very vivid picture cheating ex-girlfriend and what he thinks she might be up to. It's an album with very versatile productions that replicate a ton of different genres as well as very solid wordplay.
Sample: "Feels Good" , "Lewis and Clark"

    Title: No Love Lost
    Artist: Joe Budden
    Year: 2013
    Genre: Hip-hop
    Rating: C+
Review: I liked Joe Budden's mixtape A Loose Quarter, but this album reeks of a corporate moneymaking agenda. It's not awful, but it's so generic, from the beats to the subject matter to the features on most of the songs. Joell Ortiz and Royce da 5'9 offer up some decent verses, but most of this album is forgettable. I will say though, "Runaway" and "No Love Lost (Outro)" are pretty solid.
Sample: "Runaway" , "Top of the World"

Title: The Man Who Died in His Boat
    Artist: Grouper
    Year: 2013
    Genre: Ambience
    Rating: B
Review: It's not something that can be jammed out to, but it's a very soothing collection of ambient music tracks that wash over the listener without requiring much focus or attention from them.
    Sample: "Vital"

I don't want to rain on anybodys parade because i know there are a ton of tool fans on here, but honestly i find their music wanting. Everybody says how deep they are but really all of their songs are just dime story philosophy and peace studies 101. the themes that they present are freshman level at best. Now you can appreciate the music for what it is because there is no band that can replicate their sound, but its not cryptic or profound.

Somebody get me a doctor, I ain't feelin' ill ...But I ain't feelin' this at all...

That's the main reason why I like them. They are unique.

Actually, Maynard doesn't contribute a whole lot musically to Tool. The other three band members write the music and then Maynard comes in later and provides the lyrics and vocals.

Maynard hasn't worked at all on the upcoming Tool album. He's been more involved with his wine company and Puscifer. The other members have been writing for some time now and they feel they're over halfway done.

Being cryptic isn't necessarily a good thing. I feel their lyrics work because they're thought-provoking, yet understandable and to the point.

However, it's the music that matters most, and as you said, they're a unique band.

Didn't know that. I always thought Maynard was the reason for the lengthy production Times. I honestly don't really care for Puscifer. Just a bit too out there from most of what I've heard.

Out there? I wouldn't say that. Have you heard their second album? The first album was pretty bad Trip-Hop, while the second album was very solid Alternative Rock/Electronica.

    Title: Truly Yours (EP)
    Artist: J. Cole
    Year: 2013
    Genre: Hip-hop
    Rating: A
Review: It only has five songs, but Truly Yours is a perfectly-paced EP with deep lyricism and very natural-sounding production.
Sample: "Can I Holla At Ya"

Title: Cole World: The Sideline Story
    Artist: J. Cole
    Year: 2011
    Genre: Hip-hop
    Rating: A-
Review: Some songs are pretty typical for a more commercial rapper, but J. Cole brings a unique energy and lyricism to even the more generic of subject matters, and when he puts his heart into a song, it can become pretty poignant. "Lost Ones" in particular is a powerful track about abortion, a topic you don't see rappers touching very much.
    Sample: "Lost Ones"

Title: Mourning in America and Dreaming in Color
    Artist: Brother Ali
    Year: 2012
    Genre: Hip-hop
    Rating: B+
Review: Brother Ali brings his usual blend of personal and politically-charged lyrics over some pretty heavy beats. It's as good as any Brother Ali album, which is to say, it's a great album.
    Sample: "Stop the Press"
Thanks to Kwesnoth for the sig!
