High profile exits do not bode well for a fix coming anytime soon

What does some guy quitting the SOE division have to do with the PSN not coming back/coming back later? That would be like saying "Directv is down, the orbital satellite quit working and we'll get a new one launched",

Then having the guy that was contracted to install my satellite quit his job. What would the installer have to do with the big picture, like putting another satellite into orbit? Right, NOT A THING.

SOE was a division of Sony. They were CONNECTED to PSN, just as CoD servers connected, just as Guerrilla Games servers connected...but they have no major impact on the progress (or lack thereof) with bringing the PSN back, though SOE did play a role in the security over-all, SOE doesn't have to be online and functioning before PSN can resume...just like CoD servers don't have to be running for them to bring PSN back online...those servers will come back (SOE) when they get them ready.

The two may be tied in together, but one isn't dependent on the other for core functionality.

Generally during crisis periods, there are immediate resignations and there are post-recovery "retirements" "wanting to spend more time with the family" kind of things. The head of SOE Development resigning while things are still down points to problem that has gotten worse not better. And like I said, I'd love to be wrong. I haven't been yet...

Lord_Naga-naga well you would be correct...if the referal to the source was. This is basically old news, the guy left in April (keep reading down the article) which cannot suggest the condition of the PSN security rebuild for the last two weeks in my opinion. In the OP's defence, the source for the first two paragraphs suggests he only left just recently.

In my opinion, this source doesn't suggest PSN rebuild is doing badly

Quite sad but he was probably going to get canned anyways. On the homepage there something about developers having the Psn up and testing it.

Remember that i'm going to die is the best way I know to avoid trap of thinking you have something to lose, you're already naked, there's no reason not to follow your heart.

So let me get this straight he steps down because of the issues with the SOE servers etc so why dosnt the other 2 follow suite 1 man shouldnt take the fall for the abissmal error that in turns the CEO's of Sony have caused as well.

They were told about the issue and not 1 thing was done I do not condem people losing there jobs ever no matter in times like this but you cannot just blame him who knows fi he reported it and was waiting for Sony to respond who knows, but if anyone has to go it's Stringer and Kaz and thats it.

Um... Last time I checked none of the SOE games have done well since Everquest. He was probably going to be fired anyways, heck he was probably given the choice to quit or be fired.
