How do Trophies work in regards to PSN

Say you don't have a PSN account, you play a game, can you earn trophies? If so, what happens if you create/login to a PSN account for the first time on the same PS3? Do those trophies get synced to your account?

With my e-mail from PSN still not arriving and Noire releasing tomorrow I don't want to lose trophies that I earn.

No you dont get trophies if you dont have a psn account, and im not sure if the trophies get synced, im gonna see if my trophies got synced on friday.

I suppose when I login I won't automatically get trophies that I should've earned before?

You would probally have to donload the game and i dont see why you wouldnt get your trophies, let me know what happens when you try it.

Download the game? I'll have the disc tomorrow. Since I have a new PS3, PSN was never setup with it, which means I shouldn't get any trophies?

I mean, it asks you if you wanna download it when you start the game.

Um, even if you don't have a PSN account yet, you will still earn trophies on your PlayStation 3 User account.

When you make a PSN account and sync it, then they will be tied to that PSN ID.

Basically, if you don't have an account, it'll save all the trophies you earn on your PS3. Just sync them (view them) when you have PSN and you'll be fine.

That's what I thought but knowing Sony, I thought they'd do something backwards. I recall when trophy support was added to old games you had to redo the game to earn trophies earned before. I guess this was the game developers had control over?

That was only because trophies were being added in as a new feature, they couldn't award you for things they had no idea that you did.

In your case, all the games already have trophies, like 90% of them now, you'll be fine
