Activision has officially announced Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 - and it has promised the game will deliver "the most advanced multiplayer ever".
The publisher confirmed that the Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer developed title will launch worldwide on November 8, 2011. Activision Publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg labelled it the "year's most anticipated entertainment launch".
He said: "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is by far the most epic Call of Duty experience yet. The teams at Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer Games have worked tirelessly to create for the Call of Duty player a scale that is unimaginable with a level of polish and creativity that will push the genre forward.
"The passion and energy of our developers is reflected in everything about the title. From the innovative gameplay, to the cinematic intensity, to the most advanced multiplayer ever, Modern Warfare 3 will raise the bar for this already incredible franchise."
Activision finally released the first proper footage of Modern Warfare 3 early this morning.

I'm looking forward to it. Hopefully it lasts me longer than Black Ops has.

Here we go again.
Multiplayers always the same old formula, the same old crappy (expletive x4) formula.

Here we go again.
BF people coming into COD threads to blather on about how "superior" their franchise is. Guarantee the same thing will happen to BF eventually. All the "New FPS" people will start saying how stale and repetitive BF is. Why is it that some people just have to constantly throw out the same tired comments over and over instead of holding their tongue. Everyone knows there are COD haters, you don't need to point it out daily.
Now, as for MW3. I skipped BO mainly because I was content with MW2 and had GT5 and other games to keep me going. I would be happy if MW3 could just build on MW2. I liked the pace, I liked the weapons, I liked the perks for the most part. Eliminate the things that really throw things out of balance. Nothing is more annoying that ending up in a match with 10 tubers and RPGers with OMA or Scav. Or tac knife runners. Fix the hit detection as well, maybe do something about being able to run through half a mag worth of ammo and knife a guy. You should be slowed down. Just give the game a re-balance to where 3 or 4 strategies work instead of having to resort to something stupid just to do average. And throw in a cover system that won't break the game. Don't turn it into a marathon game with people just firing over cover hoping for kills and never getting close to the score limit.

I don't really see what they could change that would be so innovative but I guess we'll just have to wait and see. I'm excited for this new cod and the trailers got me really excited because it's going to be an epic world wide battle. I'm a fan of cod and still haven't gotten bored of black ops so this is a definite day 1 purchase!

Okay. So. The words 'epic', 'innovative', 'unimaginable' and 'intensity' have been used alongside phrases like 'push the genre forward' and 'most advanced multiplayer ever'.
Is it being over-sold? I'll leave you to decide that one.

well it is a franchise, and a franchise that millions of people buy. so i dont doubt they they hype the game up and say all these things. you dont really need to hype it up at all if the title is CoD Modern Warfare...that alone is enough and that it being the 3rd installment, i think the ceo is just putting some cherries on top of the ice cream. but that just my opinion

people are already over hyping this game. Facebook is full of kids saying how awesome it will be, but i doubt it the online has got progressively worse with every game thats came out since cod4

Just saw an ad on TV. World premiere trailer of MW3 in the halftime of the Champions League Final. That´s pretty big if u ask me. Simultaneous broadcast in whole Europe. The ad will be localized for every country. EA playing the big card for CoD again. From the 10sec. snippet that i saw it looks like the multiplayer will play a huge roll this time. It say´s Germany in green letters and some virtual buildings collapses into the ground. Looks good so far.

I have never owned a CoD or MW game...I may look into getting this...But it depends if it is given Move support or not (unlikely), else I will see if BF3 follows through on their stated consideration of Move implementation. Innovation gets my euros!

yeah it is gonna be a death kill streak, so if you get say 7 kills in a row you just become death and kill everyone on the opposite team.
I hope that they really do change some things cause, IPO Battlefield is a lot more fun, with lots of more innovations. Squad chat is one of the best. I love working with my squad mates without having to hear everyone on the team.Hard work never killed nobody but I ain't taking any chances

Rumor flying around that it may be banned in the UK? due to it being reminiscent of the terrorist attacks in London's subway stations?
God knows, I doubt it'll be banned though. Even if it does get banned. I'll probably just get it imported anyways.Steam ID: satchgear

It wont be banned Activision probably paid the Daily Fail a hefty sum to print hat article to drum up more publicity, even bad publicity is good publicity and if soemthing is banned it makes some people want it more.
The most advanced multiplayer ever in a 12 year old open source engine.Last edited by keefy; 05-28-2011 at 01:44.
