today, my PSP fell into the bathtub, which at the time was full of water. In other words, my psp took a swim...
the screen changed colors, flickered, and the thing turned off. as of now, i cant get it to turn on, so im letting it dry...is it possible for my PSP to come back to life?
most likely not.

well usually I give it around a week then I'll try whatever object dropped... not psp in this case, but it takes a long time for everything to dry inside, I think it'll eventually work, just wait it out.

much thanks to thorzilla for the sig/avatar

I heard somewhere you like blow the water out or something. I would say let it dry and just pray it isnt fried. You could of seriosly fried anything in it especially if it was running.

Was it on when it dropped? If it wasn't, wait for it to dry completely and try turning it on. Do you have insurance or something? Maybe the company will pay for it. I know someone who dropped her iPod in the mud, and the insurance company paid for a new one.
Expecting the world to treat you fairly because you are good is like expecting the bull not to charge at you because you are a vegetarian.

Why were you playing your PSP over a bathtub full of water anyway or playing while taking a bath =/ ?

If it fell it whilst it was on then I'd say nup, its probably gone.
But if it was off, I would do as above posters said and let it dry.
Ive managed to get a walkman up and running again after it was knocked into the sink.
The main thing to worry about is rust....

try to dry the console first but be sure it really dries all the water.. or take it to a repair, it should be possible to ressurrect it

Actually it's not the water which causes short circuits, it's the salt in the water, the higher the concentration of salt within the water the more the water will conduct, of course pure water still conducts electricity (you will still die horribly
) but it's salt that's the circuit killers, electronics can still work in heavy rust situations, not brilliantly but it can.

Well, my and my mate went fishing one day at a river. He found a little island that we thought would be a good place to go. So we packed all our stuff up and went on into the river. Well, my bag had sunk by this time as i wasnt paying attension to it.
My mobile (cell for you americans) was in the bottom of the bag, and when i got out and onto the island it didnt work. It had been in the bottom of a dirty river for like 5 minutes.
So i went home and left it on the side. Then, about 3 days later, i thought id try it for fun, and IT WORKED.
Leave you PSP to dry, maybe something like this will happen to you
If not, then, all i can say is im sorry

today, when i came from school, i turned on my PSP, and IT WAS ALIVEEEE
after a few seconds through the setup, the speakers made a buzzing noise, and the screen turned off.
lol cant get it to work. ill wait another day, see what happens.
dont worry about HOW it fell into the bathtub, it's a lonng story....
and yes, the PSP was ON while in the water. I find it a miracle that it actually turned on today.

If you have good hands I'd reccommend you if you don't have insurance, that you Open it up. Just the top part of the psp then blow dry the Actual LCD screen inside and wipe the fog on the pastic plate.
