    Sony Transparent TV

    http://www.blogiseverything.com/gadg...ransparent-tv/

And the speakers look frickin' awsome too. Man, that's the next generation if it was SED in the middle. And bigger. I can't wait for the price.

Holy crap! That looks amazing! Finally, we're catching up with Star Trek type technology. I think it will be extremely over priced too. Because look at the pictures, all it is is a lot of glass, two speakers, and a projector. What would jack up the price is the style factor, IMO.

Just found out it has a projector behind it. The glass is the thing that's different. Because if a projector was pointed at normal glass, it would go straight through.

Damn, and I was hoping something big.

Okay. I want one of these.

But the sound quality probably sucks. Most good looking things suck when it comes to quality- it's like how all the bad tasting stuff is good for health T.T

Dudes its just a projector screen look behind the screen - DUH projector, nothing special about this at all - get a piece of Plexiglass and rough it up with sand papaer till you get a whitish square, and then project an image on it BAM translucent TV

Bumping this cause it looks super-cool!

And i remember years ago in school when i was playing around with ideas for a projector that projects onto the glass, but in a way so that the project can be right at the bottom of it and has a strangely-shaped lense to focus light onto the glass correctly.
Sadly, i gave up on it hahaha, i was too lazy to do the equations to "create" a lense that would work.
I'll let someone else make it and get loads of money off it... >_>
    I have no signature.
No, really, i don't. You're just imagining this.

    SonyTransparent TV

No kidding! The transparent TV really exists, and it’s from Sony. Look at the screen, it’s like floating…and the speakers, freaking awesome!

The looks are enthralling and it really seems to be a new spin on the idea of TV viewing.Transparent OLEDs have only transparent components (substrate, cathode and anode) and, when turned off, are up to 85 percent as transparent as their substrate. When a transparent OLED display is turned on, it allows light to pass in both directions. A transparent OLED display can be either active- or passive-matrix. This technology can be used for heads-up displays.
    Top-emitting OLED

Top-emitting OLEDs have a substrate that is either opaque or reflective. They are best suited to active-matrix design. Manufacturers may use top-emitting OLED displays in smart cards.

    Thanks

I remember that from my SONY days... yeah, cooooool tech.
Rear Projection 3CMOS based chip if I recall.
Experimenting with Open Air Rear Projection on a certain kind of surface, i believe the glass or plexiglass (i think glass though) was infused with something as there's no particular strike area on it.

And, as for those horns, Bose can eat that one, lol, we got your horns right there!
