360 has less black shades so everything looks 'richer' as you say because it's all dark black.
eg: Look at the cockpit, it looks plain wrong on the 360 version with most detail lost in black.

I see nothing to laugh at, it's a problem the 360 faces and when developers try and counter this with multi games the PS3 loses out and become lighter then it should be.

I wonder why the HUD position is different. It's closer to the edges on the 360 version. I can't think of any logical reason why they would have the same HUD in different positions.

Not trying to spin anything, it doesn't bother me. But the 360 blacks are 25% bright as a standard and sometimes you loose detail in black.
