The PSU.com Advertising Report Workaround Thread

A little idea.

We're now able to instantly ban any user from the comments section, which is a huge step. Now we just need the ability to report the comments, so the staff can be more aware of each spammer.

It can be dealt with, but lacking a report feature. So, I'm thinking, if you're reading an article which has advertising - take the url, post it in this thread, and report your own post. Sorted.

Log in, next to the post number there's an X and a B. X deletes the post, B bans and deletes. You have to double click.

This thread is for people advertising their sties, but this new game.co.uk thing is from PSU themselves and needs sorting ASAP. Its a background ad but for some reason opens whenever you click anywhere on the page rather than just clicking the background of the forum. Needs fixing ASAP until then I'm off because its extremely annoying.

Just went through the latest 15-20 articles and deleted all the spam. I can't believe how much there is. Although I'm pretty sure 90% of them are from the same guy. The problem is that he's using both a different name and a different IP every time he spams.

Thank you all for helping us through this crap. It's incredibly annoying that we have to even do this, but again, thanks for helping. This is a semi-temporary fix until we get a better system in place... we just don't want to limit comments and still strongly encourage PSU users to voice their opinions in the articles.

Not really hard to miss, hell the first two have 60% or so spam bot posts. We, at the very least, need a report feature in psu.com. :]
