New PSN title "Armageddon Riders" a TOP PSN TITLE in My Review

I knew nothing about this new PSN title when I saw it on the Store with today's update. There was not even a customer review yet on the Store, and I was the first to review it on the store when I came back about an hour later. But I decided to take a chance, I man at least they wasn't asking $15 like so many others, and you get to drive around running over and smashing zombies into a bloody pulp.. how bad could it be?

I downloaded it wondering and hoping it would have two player split screen support. It does! My only gripe with the two player split screen is that is splits the screen vertically into both sides instead of my highly preferred horizontal divide. But a minor complaint here.

You start picking your car, and are instantly dropped into a fairly large open city where you can drive where ever you so choose. R2/L2 typical gas/reverse set up with X being a speed burst and square braking your car for drifts around corners. You have power ups all over that repair your car, multiply zombie damage, and more. Some of them require you to jump ramps for air to reach them.. massive fun!

However, nothing gives you instant pleasure the way hitting and slicing up zombies with knives that auto pop out of the sides of you car when zombies are close! Hit zombies perfectly, and their red blood comes squirting out of the two tail pipes on your car... "Bloody cool!".

Taking from Burnout Paradise City are extra events that can be accessed by stopping in circles that open up on corners when you get near them. Saving rare survivors in the city plagued by re-spawning zombies all over the city also adds to the game.

Two player split screen is simply a challenge on who can rack up the most points as both of you fight each other on the roads to line up with that section of the road ahead where 5 zombies are grouped together for massive points!

Graphics are not outstanding but certainly more then worthy of a $10 title (I'd give them 7/10) The game moves at a very nice frame rate even with two people squaring off.

The replay value, while not tested yet is probably not the best and not something you'll play for ten hours a day for months on end, but it's a very nice pick-up game for a good half hour to hour long session of zombie squashing fun that you'll probably want to come back to more then enough times to get your money's worth here.

If you like arcade style racing games and/or zombie slaughtering games like Burn Zombie Burn or Dead Nation, then you'll definitely want to snag this gem.

Considering the low price and the quality of this PSN title, I give it a solid 9.0 out of 10. The only knock I give it is the split screen preference and potential limited replay value. I'd say this game is easily in the top ten or fifteen PSN titles in PS3 history, and that's saying a LOT!

Hopefully I've helped someone on the fence about this unheralded and un-hyped PSN title. I know I was, and now I am more then happy with my purchase here. Call it good luck I guess.
