video and comics available on
PlayStation Store?
A: SCE plans to make those content
available on PS Vita.
Q: Can PS Vita users continue using
their save data for PSP games that
they have also downloaded from
PlayStation Store to PS Vita?
A: We are looking into the
opportunity to do so.

peripherals like "UMD readers" for PS
Vita?
A: We do not have plans to introduce
such peripherals at this point in
time.
Q: I have UMD games but do I need
to buy them again from PlayStation
Store to play the same game on PS
Vita?
A: We will consider every possibility
for support on bought UMD games
but we have nothing to comment at
this point in time.
Q: Will you bring all UMD games to
the new game medium or on the
PlayStation Store for PS Vita?

been offering select UMD titles on

output feature.
Q: Can you take out the battery from
the system?

Pretty informative. From the way it sounds, theyve tried to mae it as hack-resistant as they could which is good news. I personally have my psp hacked, but i only play it when im sitting on my shiny white throne
.
The rest sounds interesting, and i like the idea of being able to store game saves directly onto the game card as opposed to having a second card for that. Everything about this thing is sounding too good to be true thus far. Price point, graphics, game titles weve heard of so far, im really really impressed.

One questions remains. They always talk about the 3G model in combination with AT&T. Does that mean the PSVita is bound to the AT&T network all the time? Does it even have a slot for a SIM card or is it some SIM-less hardware integration?
Or will I be able to use networks from other carriers (other SIM card provided of course)?
I hope that the SIM card (if there is one) can be exchanged and that I can use whatever carrier I want, else I have to go with the WiFi model which I actually don't want :/

It's tough to read when the lines are 5 words long.
Some reason, it didn't really seem like an interview. More like an entire document that got chopped up and filled in with questions.
Anyways, E3 answered nearly all of it already, but it's good to know the extra clarity in the rest of that info. I'm so glad Sony didn't push for 3D in this thing. Not only would it make PSV unable to have a competitive price, I'm convinced most dedicated gamers don't really care that much about 3D anyways. Especially for a handheld.

The only thing they haven't said is if there will be a monthly charge for using AT&T 3G network. I'll definetly pick up the 3G one if there is no monthly fee.

I understand the concern over the lack of built-in storage, but why would you care about the amount of RAM in the machine itself? It's clearly beastly enough to hold its own in the mobile space, AND it also supports cross game chat (which means either: The OS memory footprint is significantly smaller than the PS3 OS memory footprint, or that it has more RAM than the PS3 to be able to facilitate running cross game chat in the background).
I don't see either way why it matters how much RAM it has. Why does it matter if it only had 1MB of RAM and could do all that, versus if it had 5GB of RAM? Unless you're a developer, it doesn't matter.I am a moron. Do not argue with me because I will drag you down to my level and win with experience

People don't seem to be having problem browsing the web on their smartphones with "only" 256MB of RAM, or sometimes even less.
Sony needs to grow a brain and license Opera's browser (like Nintendo has done) instead of using that pile of crap Netfront browser made by some no-name 3rd rate company.I am a moron. Do not argue with me because I will drag you down to my level and win with experience

Even with the 256MB rumor (which doesn't hold much merit) you still had that and another 128MB VRAM according to the rumor. I believe at the very least it will be 256MB RAM + 128MB VRAM, which is plenty for a handheld.

Part of the reason why people get concern about the ram, is partially, how future proof the Vita is.
Most people remember how some games got butchered to fit on consoles like the xBox ( Deux Ex 2 ... ), in order to fit in its memory.
Now, the question becomes how much multi task is the Vita, and how is this all going to interact with the memory. While web browsing on most phone's is possible, its still:
a) slow on a lot of smartphones
b) memory intensive.
When every smartphone these day's ships with 512MB ram, or more, you kind of expect a quad cpu core, quad gpu core system like the Vita, to at minimum have 512MB ram. If they gimp the Vita, to 256MB ram, just to save a few dollars, this is something that can impact the future of the console.
My "old" HTC HD2, had 370MB ( with in reality 512MB+ memory hidden ), and this thing is already like almost 2 years old! So seeing the Vita ship with 256MB memory may not be a deal breaker, it does not exact shows a large amount of trust towords Sony.
We can not forget that the PSP was originally also crippled by speed limitations, and limited memory. The Refreshed PSP that had way more memory, surely ended up loading games much faster. And yet, those developers ended up being stuck developing for the original limited PSP.
It all depends on how people look at it. And what Sony will do in the future with the Vita. 256MB may be plenty for now, but this thing is supposed to be on the market for 3 to 5 years...
The same question is also asked by people, at what speed the GPU's will be running, and the CPU's ... Everybody wants fast things, even if its not used to full capacity ( why else do people buy fast cars, when there are speed limits everywhere
).

There are still quite a lot of things that need answering on the PlayStation Vita.
Mainly for me Sony have not really talked about the multi-media side of things. Will there be video/music/internet support? What about Skype video calls? How and when are those going to be integrated and then how will they be marketed? Furthermore any catch-up TV links? i.e. BBCiPlayer, iTVplayer, 4OnDemand etc?
I think Sony will want to answer the above - but for now will concentrate on the simple message of games and the unique aspects of the PlayStation Vita hardware - which is a very sensible move and one which shows they have learned from the past (PSP and PS3).
Also I do wonder what the battery life will be like on this device. Also as one member stated - I would like to see how the game cases will look like.
There are some other questions. How much RAM? What is the resolution of the cameras? I guess over-time these questions will be answered.Last edited by Wasib; 06-13-2011 at 01:13.
