I don't see the problem. If anything, this thread will get more traffic.
Besides, Mass Effect 3 is classified as an action-RPG, which is why I moved the thread to a more appropriate section. You can still cover any updates to all three platforms of the game since it's a multiplatform title.Last edited by Blacksite; 05-12-2012 at 20:15.

Then what's the point of the multiplatform section?
If you aren't going to make sure multiplatform game threads end up there, then there isn't much point to having that section exist.
And why wait till nearly a year later to move the thread.
And I don't see how moving the thread from a section with 19K threads and 431K posts to one with 188 threads and 8k posts (significantly less than even the multiplat section) leads to more traffic.

To talk about multiplatform titles. But because Mass Effect 3 is classified as an action-RPG, it belongs in the RPG section with the other Mass Effect 3 threads.
Because I only just recently thought about moving it when I came across it in the Xbox 360 forum. I don't see why this needs to be such a big deal for you.And why wait till nearly a year later to move the thread.
Well, that's irrelevant, considering the Xbox 360 forum has been around longer than the RPG forum. When I was talking about there being more traffic in this forum it was due to the fact that it's a part of the PlayStation forum and Mass Effect 3 just so happens to have been released on said platform. And I don't see how moving the thread from a section with 19K threads and 431K posts to one with 188 threads and 8k posts (significantly less than even the multiplat section) leads to more traffic.Last edited by Blacksite; 05-14-2012 at 19:36.

Big time fan of the series. Finally picked it up and am 8 hours into the campaign. So far, I would prefer ME2 over it. Everything seems so...scattered. Not the war but as in the game menus, exploration and all. Isn't very welcoming, tbh.
Otherwise, I like how they've changed the combat and brought it closer to standard shooter games without compromising on storytelling and non-combat gameplay. You see, madness, as you know, is like gravity. All it takes is a little push!

Considering picking it up soon. I just finally pulled my Black Friday copy of ME2 out of the shrink wrap last weekend, and did my first play through. Considering doing a 2nd play through (this time Paragon) and getting 100% loyalty - I messed up the Thane loyalty mission. Don't really care about the MP portion as I'm not much into MP unless it's cooperative missions w/ other. Is there any activation code that comes with it that if you don't have makes you pay for some nice DLC? I'm considering grabbing a copy off Ebay.

I'm kinda confused. You seem to have started off with ME2 and then...well this thread is ME3

You can grab some free ME2 DLC off the Bioware website and logging in. No such t.hing is available for ME3, yet.Is there any activation code that comes with it that if you don't have makes you pay for some nice DLC? I'm considering grabbing a copy off Ebay.
ME2 doesn't have any form of multiplayer however ME3 has 4 player online co-op.Don't really care about the MP portion as I'm not much into MP unless it's cooperative missions w/ other.
Regardless, Mass Effect is one of my favorite franchises. You see, madness, as you know, is like gravity. All it takes is a little push!

Yes, apparently you are. Considering yes, this is an ME3 thread. And I said, that I've just pulled ME2 out of shrink wrap last weekend and did my first play through, as an aside. Then I asked about Activation code, on a game because I'm considering buying it off Ebay. Which frigging game do you think I'm buying off ebay, the game that I own and just did a play through on? Toss in that I mentioned I didn't care much about the online gaming aspect. Keep in mind I've already indicated that I've done a play through of ME2.

Learn how to read and stop being such a douche-bag about things when you can't use reason or logic to figure it out and instead whine like a little bitch as if I'm hijacking a thread for ME2 discussions, when anyone with half a fucking brain could figure it the hell out.

Paragraphs do help make text easier to understand quickly. It's not like it's hard to separate different points. Also, you guys just had the dumbest argument I've seen all week. You don't have to get pissed off over everything.
@admartian
I wouldn't call ME3 a letdown. Honestly I thought the game was amazing. One of my favorite games I've ever played for sure, and on a cinematic and polished level beyond any of the previous ME games. Also the gameplay is much improved in my opinion.
My two main complaints were that the mission log was almost useless (I would have a side mission but would have no idea where I needed to go or how to activate it), and that awful ending that Bioware will hopefully remedy with some explanation and closure (because those are the things that ending lacked... along with any sense of accomplishment).
Also, I felt that the love interests received highly varying degrees of attention. Liara was obviously the main focus out of all the LI's. Also, they should have shown Tali's face for real. I mean the teased it the entire series and then talk about how they've come to a decision and then decide they can get away with just showing a photoshoped photo (btw I really like the appearance they showed)?
I would have preferred an in game model, they could have even opted for a more transparent visor as an optional outfit. The fact they had time to put that woman from IGN into the game, but didn't give Tali a real face somewhat pissed me off.Last edited by bigCman123; 05-18-2012 at 19:04.

To be honest it felt like you were being a smart ass, but maybe you weren't. I thought what I had stated was clear, though using paragraphs would have been more clear.
I am interested in ME3, and I wanted to know if it came w/ a 'Code' like the 'Cerberus Activation Code on ME2' or not. If it was only for Online Multiplayer I don't care too much for the code.
The reason for my asking is I wanted to know if I would be at a loss if I picked it up off E-bay as oppose to getting a new copy.
I'm currently doing a 2nd play through of ME2. I can't seem to get my 1st play through to make it through the Suicide mission w/o loosing someone. The closest I came was with loosing the Dr. and Kate who I sent back to the ship w/o an escort. I didn't have Zaeed, the Download of the Cerberus pack never finished prior to me making it through the first play through. And I didn't get loyalty on Thane and Tali. This play through, I plan on getting 100% of chars, 100% loyalty and nobody dies on the Suicide mission.
I'd have to say the most annoying thing on this is the delays between areas of a ship, and the long drawn out conversations that you can't bypass the audio (i.e. just read it and skip the words.) This is especially true on the 2nd play through.
I'm guessing that's going to be similar on ME3.

You can skip convos using the Spacebar. Oh wait, you must be on a console. No idea about that. You see, madness, as you know, is like gravity. All it takes is a little push!

The square button on the PS3 controller and the X button on the 360 controller allows you to bypass conversations.
You're all welcome.

Don't get me wrong, the actual game was good. Grand even.
But ahving an ending that is mediocre and 'so-so' isn't something that should be defended for a series that is as hyped and rich as this.
Gaming "journalists" like to poke fun at those that didn't like the ending, but I think it is them that are actually the ones that do not get it.

DLC Incoming
http://blog.bioware.com/2012/05/24/m...ebellion-pack/MASS EFFECT 3: REBELLION PACK
Reinforcements are being deployed to all N7 forces, bringing out some heavy hitters thanks to the new Mass Effect 3 Rebellion DLC Pack! Arriving on Xbox Live, the PlayStation Network and PC on Tuesday, May 29 (Wednesday, May 30 on the PSN in Europe), the Mass Effect 3 Rebellion Pack will be bringing you more gear, more weapons, more maps, and more kits, available at no additional cost for anyone who redeemed an Online Pass for Mass Effect 3 on PC, PS3 or Xbox 360.
The Rebellion Multiplayer Expansion opens two new fronts against the Reapers: Firebase Jade’s jungle reservoir and Firebase Goddess on Thessia. In-game reinforcement packs now include three new weapons (Reegar Carbine, Krysae Sniper Rifle, Cerberus Harrier) as well as equipment, consumables, and six new characters from species that have lost lives or whole planets to the Reapers: Quarian Engineer and Infiltrator, Vorcha Soldier and Sentinel, Ex-Cerberus Adept and Vanguard. The battle continues!
NEW CHARACTERS
-Vorcha Soldier-
Thanks to their unique physiology and their Bloodlust ability, the Vorcha are joining the fight and are perfectly suited for the utilitarian soldier kit.
-Vorcha Sentinel-
The innate aggressiveness found within the Vorcha make them shockingly durable combatants, and when coupled with their Flamer skill, the Vorcha sentinel is a force to be reckoned with.
-Male Quarian Engineer-
Quarians have spent centuries at perpetual salvage and ship repair; the survival of their species depends on this technical expertise. When bringing the new Arc Grenade to the fray, the Quarians prove their prowess as effective engineers on the battlefield.
-Male Quarian Infiltrator-
The Male Quarian Infiltrator must actively rely on stealth while in the heat of battle, and when they make use of their Tactical Scan ability, they quickly prove their mettle while continuously dishing out the pain.
-Ex-Cerberus Vanguard-
When the Illusive Man turned to indoctrination in order to ensure the loyalty of his troops, many Cerberus operatives defected and joined the Alliance in order to stop the Reapers. Now that we’re on the same team, Ex-Cerberus Vanguards (along with their new Lash attack) are quickly proving their worth.
-Ex-Cerberus Adept-
A result of the Illusive Man’s early experiments in enhanced human physiology, Ex-Cerberus subjects are highly skilled combat and biotics specialists. As a result, Ex-Cerberus Adepts can lay waste to the enemy with their Smash and Singularity powers.
NEW MAPS
-Firebase Jade – Surrounded by huge waterfalls, Firebase Jade overlooks an ancient reservoir built by the salarians centuries ago. Set up strategic chokepoints inside the base’s main buildings to get the jump on your enemy, and work with your team to meticulously clear each room to achieve victory.
-Firebase Goddess – Nestled in the epicenter of a Thessian metropolis, Firebase Goddess is one of the last strongholds of asari resistance against the Reapers. With its circular layout, Firebase Goddess is a tough location to control. This arena combines heavy cover and elevated firing positions, so stay light on your feet.
NEW WEAPONS
-Cerberus Harrier Assault Rifle – These Cerberus-modified Mattock rifles are fully automatic. Cerberus gunsmiths reined in the recoil issues, resulting in a gun that stay on target, but delivers slightly less punch per round than a standard Mattock. As such, the weapon is typically utilized by Cerberus’ elite troopers, who train constantly to make every burst count.
-Reegar Carbine Shotgun – This electrical weapon improves upon the arc pistol’s design by generating a sustained current on its target. This weapon is named for the Quarian Reegar family, whose marines have served valiantly against the Geth.
-Krysae Sniper Rifle – This Turian antimaterial rifle is modified to kill Reaper enemies. The Krysae’s scope uses a rangefinder that adjusts to keep the target in proper proportion to the shooter, which comes in useful when the sniper is forced into close range. Its specialized ammunition is both armor-piercing and explosive. In a desperate move, the Turians released its specifications over the extranet so that nearly anyone with a fabricator could manufacture this weapon to help the war effort.
Anyone else playing the MP on PC right now?Last edited by gangsta_795; 05-24-2012 at 17:42.
