I will be getting Battlefield 3 as this has dedicated servers. I will also get MW3 but only if this has dedicated servers, im fed up with COD games not working online properly.

Battlefield 3. I've stopped buying into the Call of Duty franchise, at least; until they bring in something fresh.
Love DICE. Battlefield 2 was excellent, as was Bad Company 2. No reason why Battlefield 3 won't be pants-wettingly good. On PC first. Then, maybe for PS3 too.

For a while I wasnt going to get MW3 at all. The big business antics at Activision and the way the split at Infinity Ward went down just drained all anticipation out of me. On the other hand it does look like it's going to offer the same thrills regardless of the drama behind the game and it's developers despite not seeming to grow in any tangible way from the second. but that's not a bad thing. sometimes more of the same is still quite enjoyable. Plus I kinda want to see how this trilogy ends. (assuming it does)
On the other hand looking at BF3... Looks Amazing~. I mean REALLY GOOD. And from the sound of things couldnt be any worse than MW3. But the interactions and the set pieces all have a level of detail that stunned me, after 2 iterations of the beauty of MW, with graphics that are a noticeable step UP. The only thing I'm worried about is Headbob because that makes me incredibly motionsick, so I'll wait for a few more videos before I decide but I could end up picking this one over MW3... but still eventually picking it up later for a few bucks less, but buying it all the same.
I couldn't care less about Multiplayer in either game, frankly. I have too many single player games that need my attention to waste time shooting people in the head repetitively or getting shot in the head constantly by people who do nothing all day but play multiplayer._____________________________________________

Battlefield 3 will be a Day 1 purchase.
Decided to get MW3 after reviews and price drops.

I think Battlefield 3 has more potential right now. To me, Modern Warfare 3 is just another Call of Duty game. Battlefield 3, however, isn't the kind of game that comes out every year. We haven't had a legitimate Battlefield game for along time now, and the developers really seem to have a lot of faith that Battlefield 3 is going to be better than the competition.
CoD title after CoD title, I'm simply not seeing MW3 as something that's going to be spectacular. It'll be good, of course, but I don't see it going beyond what they've been doing over the past several years.SchaffinOSX

Both for me as well. I love both styles of play, simply because there are times that I simply want a quick frantic skirmish, and at other times, I prefer a more tactical and careful approach.

mw3
Well, I have played bfbc2, and to be honest i couldn't get into it at all, the maps are HUGE for such a small number of people. Black ops was also a huge dissapointment for me ( just like world at war was), So im hoping infinity ward fixes that like they did with mw2. Activision should just get rid of treyarch, and just stick with infinity ward, i will be getting mw3 but bf3 wont even be on my mind. And they better keep that stupid zombie crap out tof the game...

All $ 63 going to the one and only BF 3. Didn't see anything new or interesting in MW 3.

Both.
They are both excellent FPS games with the same modern warfare theme but different gameplay and feel. COD is fast paced, intense, and quick "one man army" style FPS while BF is more open space-objective based team play FPS. Love them both and I love MOH which feel as a mix between COD and BF.

A game and two DLC's cost's over $100 after tax, and I sick of handing it out every year for roughly the same game, so I think I'm gonna check out Battlefield.

cod 4 was the best, the series has gone downhill since, battlefield 3 for me.

I am all for Battlefield 3 to be honest. I think Modern Warfare 3 will be more of the same (which I am starting to get tired of, even though more of the same is not always bad) and Battlefield 3 will be fresh in the sense that it is going back to its roots. A lot of people have been waiting for the successor to Battlefield 2 and the Bad Company franchise was not it. Large maps with a lot of players is what it is all about.
