yes, 5 in total can use the downloaded content, but remember you can log in to as many PS3s with your account as you want. To use the still you have downloaded from the store on a 6th PS3, you have to deactivate your account from one of the other systems.

    (hope that made sense)

Fairly certain that that is a misquote related to an update of the ToS when the video and comic service was rolled out for PSP. You can activate videos/comics on up to three PSP systems.

Feel free to prove me wrong though.

That, or the three PS3 limit is ONLY EU.

I think its still 5 as one of my friends tried to add my account at the weekend and recieved the "5 accounts allready registered" message.

Technically, the answer is '0'. Whilst your content can be activated on a total of 5 consoles, it's not intended as a way for you to pay once and share with other people outside those noted in the ToS. Which, I assume is your intention.

It's true. The ToS states the intent is for use among family members and multiple PS3s within the same household. As well as the obvious unwritten "in case your PS3 ****s on you so you don't loose all your digital swag"

If you share with anyone other than those that fall inside of the ToS definition, you do risk being banned.

I don't think so, I do it with my friends and we have yet to be banned. I don't think it's against any rules, just is frowned upon by Sony haha

Not being banned yet doesn't mean it's acceptable to game share. Just means you haven't been caught.

They touted that gimmick when the PS3 was unveiled at e3. If they frown upon it, that's their problem. Shouldn't have added the feature. And they shouldn't have added that stupid online pass either.

Also if you click information on a ps1 game for example, it even tells you can do it.

Either way, when you have multiple PS3's in your household, it sure beats buying a game twice

This is true and i don't think virtual content costs alot anyways. Don't quote me on this.

There is a misunderstanding about content sharing in regards to PSN. (an unfortunate circumstance stemming from lack of clarity.)

You can have 5 activated devices on your PSN account for game content, it's NOT how many times you can share a piece of content. This includes every PS3 you've ever owned including ones that have yellow lighted, refurbished replacement systems, systems that belong to friends/relatives and PSPs. So keep in mind if you're sharing content with other people/systems and have had systems fail on you which you replaced in some fashion you can eat up those slots quickly requiring you to call sony and explain why you need your account cleared out when you suddenly find yourself unable to download.
