Adventure Time is and has been my favourite cartoon for the past year. Despite me being 22.
Growing up I loved things like the Moomins, and Recess, the usual Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon stuff.

My favorite Cartoon is probably Family Guy , it's technically a cartoon.
My favorite anime is Naruto, though I don't watch it anymore.

Some great stuff mentioned in here...
One that I don't see so I'll add it to the mix:
Avatar: The Legend of Aang (Last Airbender)
For a kid's show on Nick it did a fantastic job of introducing more adult themes and even some edge by the third season. Not to mention some great choreographed action. My dad and I loved it.

That's exactly how I feel about DeathNote, and I watched for the first time 2 years ago lol. I've heard a lot of good things about Code Geass but never got round to watching it; thanks for reminding me that it exists, I'll check it out
For sure man, my brother watches Bleach and he's on like episode 3hundredsomething. It's just overwhelming to get into an anime that is so far ahead but as far as I've heard, Bleach is worth it
Ohh there's a lot of filler episodes? lol - I don't think it can get much worse than Naruto fillers xD I would be surprised if it does!

I hated Code Geass. Watched the whole first season and most of the second but just couldn't enjoy it.
My favs include
Yu Yu Hakusho
Cowboy Bebop
DBZ (of course)
Rurouini Kenshin
Samurai Champloo
Ninja Scroll series
Berserk
Death Note up until a certain point (those who've seen it will know what I mean)
I watch and enjoy Naruto but all the bullshit and fillers really piss me off. I stopped for nearly 2 years and came back and there was only like 5 non-filler episodes to catch up on, I mean seriously ! I watched Bleach for a while but that isn't as good as Naruto but it 10 times worse with fillers
Tried to watch Planetes recently because the animation is awesome and I love the setting, but the main character ruins the entire anime, which is a shame.
I love anime movies too, best I've seen are
Ninja Scroll
Akira
Laputa castle in the sky
Memories
Spirited Away
Nausicaa of the valley of the wind
Princess Mononoke
Tales from Earthsea
Howl's Moving castle (anything by these guys is gold to be honest)
Jin-Roh
Vampire Hunter D
Ghost in the Shell
The girl who leapt through time
5 centimetres per second
Grave of the Firelies
I know I'm missing some, thats all I got for now

To each his own I suppose. I do have a suggestion for bleach though. Just go to a wiki or google it or something and find the seasons that are actually story line. It will make it so much more digestable. The filler seasons aren't bad but just distract from the better parts of the series. In fact you can also skip the first season of you want. Not a whole lot goes on cept establish basic info which you can pick up pretty quick.

DBZ until it got into the GT series...that dragged on for too long..it's like you beat one guy and then the next guy is even more powerful, with impossible odds of beating him, but somehow he is beaten because he just increases to another super saiyan level
Yu-Gi-Oh, as embarrassing as that is to admit, I used to watch it religiously and I still have my deck LOL
Digimon, used to watch that a lot in grade 6 and even have a good deck.
Pokemon, but I never got into the card game
Sailor Moon cause I had a boner for Sailor Mars and Venus. Tuxedo Mask was a badass in it.
Courage the Cowardly Dog..one of my favorite shows on Cartoon Network
Ed Edd, and Eddy
Dexters Lab
Looney Toons
Justice League
X-Men the original series
Spider-Man the original series (jizzed my pants when there were cross-overs)
Tom & Jerry
Men in Black
Godzilla

I spent a embarrassing amount of time and MONEY in it. unfortunately i don't have my Deck on me anymore due to moving.
As for pokemon i loved it excluding the card game because i didn't know how to play it. I had alot of cards just for collecting reasons but like most things they ruined it. Oh the 90's we're the best in cartoons.
