2. If you have a gold membership on your 360 and a next gen xbox comes out. Will that carry over to the next gen xbox
3. will you be able to get your current dlc's and game saves and video's and music and personal information put onto your next gen xbox

Speculation is fine. But is there a point to making a dedicated thread for it. (which will probably be ignored, just like the multiplatform section). Especially when we are 1-2 years out from the announcement of the console.
BRB, making FF15 and PS4 speculation threads.....

Well as far as I can tell there are no rules stating that threads needs to relevant, and non-speculative. People are free to make threads with in the rules and this is with in the rules. If you feel the need to make those other threads, then go right ahead. The guys has questions and is asking peoples opinions, so what, if you don't like it then just get out the thread.

yes there is and i feel, since we want to post and make threads on this topic. That a one thread fits all would be ideal for all the information to be in one place

I think something has to be happening next year. Tell me if I'm wrong but do we know of any games coming towards the last half of 2012?

Questions:
1. Will MS do proper testing to ensure the next-gen Xbox does not suffer the RROD/Thompson DVD drive type problems of the past two generations?
2. Will the power supply be external or internal?
3. Will the cooling be both adequate and quiet?
I had launch day systems of both the original Xbox and the 360. The Thompson DVD drives in the original Xbox were very problematic, if they worked at all, and the launch 360 was almost as loud as a hair dryer. Fortunately the RROD ensured that loud system was replaced and 2 replacements later I finally got one that has worked for 4 years now.
I would hope that with as long as this generation is running, MS will finally have the time and ability to properly test their hardware and iron out any bugs BEFORE it launches.

I think the main problem with RROD was Microsoft were so focused on getting to the market before the PS3, they shipped knowing it had problems. Quite a dick move yes, but I think it worked for them in the long run... as I'm not sure they'd be in the position they are now if they hadn't beaten Sony to the market. Obviously the Xbox brand was a shadow of Playstation last gen... but now they don't need to rush so much. But RROD discussions are really not necessary anymore... so shhhhhhhhh

as far as i can tell now, mainly from personal experience with friends etc, RLOD is really not THAT more common than YLOD.
your 40/60 gig phat ps3 is waiting to die just as much as your launch / early 360. MS just got the bad press because they did it in large numbers early.
the early ps3s have an inherent design flaw in that they pump out hot air below their cold air intakes. so tbf both companies rushed their launches....
