Short and sweat, when PSN was down for what seemed like forever, in the word we live in today it was scary cause what could have happened to our info and that we just didn't have access to some of the best free online capabilities.

Has to be Resident Evil 2. When you are walking in the hallway and the damn birds come flying through the windows. You play that game at night with all the lights off I don't care who you are you are going to jump.

Scariest Moment(s) was definitely in Resident Evil 4.
There is a part where you have to go into a dark dungeon, and just by looking at how dark it was, and the background ominous music playing, I refused to play any further.Next day or so I summoned the courage to play and was ready to pee myself any moment.
I know we are supposed to have a single moment but the regenerators in RE4 are my worst nightmare. Many times I had them get the drop on me, nad every time my heart rate shot up to 87302 beats per second.

Scariest Moment - Undying
My scariest moment has to be when my brother first picked up a copy of "Undying" on the PC. We were all excited to finally see what that game was like and at the time I was around 8 years old.
The scariest moment happened when he was walking into a living room to see a dead woman on the floor bleeding. As he approached her and looked down at her to see what happened in the lower right corner of his screen were demon's feet. When he turned around it jumped at him to attack while he kept firing back.
After I saw that I literally ran upstairs and went straight to my mother for comfort. It was a moment I will never forget and has to be the scariest one I have had.Deep down, I wish I was Bruce Wayne... Follow me on Twitter! @Namdead

My scariest moment has got to be the first silent hill. Those freaky babies in the class room scared the $#!* out of me. The silent hill series in general is the scariest (those faceless nurses in part 2 came in 2nd). resident evil made me jump a few times, but those demonic toddlers gave me nightmares !!!

On the night I had just acquired my copy of dead space 2. I sat there intent on finishing it in a single night and probably about half way through and then I hear this tapping on my window. I glance it and quickly disregard it but it keeps occuring to the point I know I am being targeted. So thinking over every horror movie I grab a bat (as none of them ever did) i walk to the door closest to the window and peer out to see nothing. Then as I move on to investigate another portion of the house I am surprised by a deafening bang as the outcome of a force against the door behind me, So, I thrust it open to find my lawn bare with no signs of anyone. Now, I am completely certain there is someone else around here. So with my agitated curiousity I move around my home cautiously checking bushes and my shed and what not. But, yet again, nothing. So I decide it was just some kids and I returned to my door to find it wide open. Now the contemplation of whether I had remembered to close it or not filled my mind. Quickly I ran around all upstairs checking every room and closet, locking every window and door. I concluded if he is in the house he must be downstairs. So, midway down the stairs I hear the agitated grunts and curses. His gnarled voice creating a accelerated thumping as my heart worked to escape my chest. My legs began to shake and it was difficult to walk upright. I slowly moved open the door to see the oddest, scariest thing. My senile grandfather avidly playing the game and swearing up a storm in his bathrobe.
I don't know if this counts considering it wasn't so much the game that frightened me as who was playing it but its still a funny story and I think most will get a laugh out of it.

Deadspace 1 a few months ago, only just got round to playing. Was just freaking me out in the earlier levels. Was too scared to go around the corners. Then later on when that alien jumps on ya back, I'm not lying, I honestly fell off my chair with a scream and woke up my family in the middle of the night!

Back on topic:
My scariest gaming experience was not so long ago, when I first gave Amnesia a try. I decided to play out at night for the first time, room was totally dark. Then as I got throughout the plot I got to the part that you start being chased by some monster and you're only able to run away; so I was too scared to be honest (had the volume real loud too) and unfortunately for me I opened a door and at the same time my sister opened the door to my room but I didn't even noticed because of the darkness, loudness and being scared lol, so I was running away in the game again, hid my character in a closet and then my sister laid her hand on my shoulder, I freakin' jumped out of my chair screaming like a lil' girl.
That's my most scariest story.

My scariest moment in gaming was when my mom through my PS3 across my room cause I did something bad..I forgot what it was lol, long ass time ago...but yea I thought she broke it, but it's still running like a champ with nothing wrong haha
But for like actually playing a game and being scared it probably goes to Heavy Rain..I mean I don't usually get scared like jumping in my seat scared while playing video games, but for like suspense scary I was shaking my controller so hard and my heart was racing and what not just a very very good game that got me into it like no other so when something bad happened I was like "OMFG!" "SH*T!" "NO!"..just yelling at my TV lol especially when I would mess up on the shaking combo's..

Never again.. Well... maybe..
This is easy, scariest moment I've ever had in gaming, and there was probably only one that really freaked the hell outta me, it was Metal Gear Solid 2. I was home alone, 12/13 years old, and it was dark and I was saddled up real close to the tv. My mind was completely focused on the dialogue and everything going on. Then all of a sudden a naked Raiden was under my control, and for some reason the only thing I was trying to do for a good 5 minutes was have him do his flipwheel thing and see if you could see his... err nevermind, that's.. not the scary part.. Don't even know why I made that note, but moving on.. All of a sudden I was real focused, then the colonel kept sending codec messages.. I was like "..Mmm okay, that's kinda weird." Then he kept going on and on, saying random garbled nonsense and his face kept changing angles, opacity (seeing his skull), voice changed into being distorted. I was scared sh*tless. It was the scariest thing I think I've ever witnessed.. not just in gaming, in general. It was freaky scary, and when he made the comment to "turn off the game console now." That just iced the cake.. I turned the game off after a couple more of his codecs, didn't touch it for a good 2 years. I did finally beat it... at a friend's house... on mute.. Hell I'll admit to this day, it still haunts me.

i really want that headset so i'm tell people this, none of my friends knows about this.
The first stage in deadspace when you and the crew comes in and all of a sudden you hear a noise and then you see things moving around in the dark and then you have to run for your life, and when you get to the elevator and some creature bust through the elevator and try to grab you at that part i actual scream out and from that day i NEVER NEVER played dead space at night. Then they were other parts where i cover my face. Although rest of the game scared the living sh*t out of me and did give me a few nightmares, i did promise myslef that if they ever make a part 2 i wouldn't purchase that sh*t.

The scariest moment I can remember was in Siren: Blood Curse. I was playing the hospital stage alone in the dark, the nurses scared the piss out of me.

Lemme see,in recent memories Dead Space 2 gave me a scare when in the very early part, after you've defeated your first boss( semi-boss,dunno really), I went into an office and the damn light goes out, with Necromorphs crawling, running, spewing at me like I'm dinner. The funny thing being that the monsters weren't the scary bit, it was the fact that I literally only had a small flashlight to see them coming (I died about 5-6 times,b4 turning it off in partial fear and partial frustration). Then there were the Spaniard zombies in the Nazi generator room in Uncharted , but that said these aren't really my scariest moments.
The Scariest one has to be actually the library Dahaka chase in Prince Of Persia : Revelations (psp's warrior within) :
The chase itself was quite fun, but just having the presumption that the Dahaka couldn't get me shattering in front of me was quite scary.

As a kid my father would play Resident Evil 3 on my playstation and I would be so scared watching him play. From the environments to the creepy music that game would freak me out every single time I watched it. One day I decided to play the game by myself and I did so of course with the lights off and the volume up. My confidence was at an all time high and the moment I got into the warehouse area in the beginning of the game I freaked out. Just the feeling of being all alone in a warehouse like that creeped me out. I used to be a bit paranoid.... The farthest I would ever go would be when I'd encounter Nemesis for the first time. Knowing that that thing could come out at anytime would scare the living hell out of me. So I would run around the police station just shooting bullets cause I was too scared to continue on. Eventually I stopped being scared and decided to continue on. Wasn't a good idea for me at the time.. I remember going through some halls and getting ready to climb up some stairs when Nemesis busted out the window like he was Matt Damon in a Bourne movie and I freaked out. My first instinct was too look at nemesis and scream then to run away from him while continuing to scream. My family woke up and they started yelling at me and you'd think I'd just stop playing and give them my attention but nooooo I kept playing and screaming, went through a door, took a breather and shut the game off. I will never forget that day...sadly. Eventually I did beat the game. It was the first M rated game I ever completed so I'm proud of that in a way.

I'm honestly surprised Dr. Salvador hasn't been mentioned. Was I the only one who shit themselves when he showed up in RE4?

Couple I can remember:Playing in the prison level of Silent Hill 2 many years ago. I had the lights off, surround sound on bust, and a red lava lamp on. The whole room was red and the sounds of the level creeped me right out! I would have to take breaks as I would get cold shivers from the fear! The original FEAR gave me a startle the first time I climbed a ladder and the girl was at the top! Most recently was during Alan Wake. Running through the hedge maze trying to get to the center was nerve racking!~d

First time playing Resident Evil 4, during the Verdugo fight was intense. I had so little ammo and no herbs to heal. The verdugo popped in and out and could kill me at anytime with one swipe of his massive claws. It was INTENSE.

Somebody get me a doctor, I ain't feelin' ill ...But I ain't feelin' this at all...

i think the scariest moment that I'd ever had in video games was probably Silent Hill. Playing that game on the PSP in my dark room with headphones on pretty much had me crapping in my pants. I think it was especially scary not because of a particular moment, but because the game's atmosphere was done so well that it had me on edge the entire time.

For me, the scariest moment was during my first playthrough of Silent Hill 1. It actually occurred during the first transition to nightmare world. The game was eerie and frightening to begin with, what with all the fog and sounds but that nightmare sequence really got me on the edge. Going through the dark backyard and roads with that flashlight only illuminating few feet of the area, I was honestly freaked out at that moment. To add to that effect, I was playing alone in a darkened room with the door shut most of the way, so my fear was pretty heightened at that point especially considering I was only a kid back then. I still get goosebumps playing that game alone.

I was playing through Demon souls for the first time at night with my Headset on. Was going through the Shrine of Storms 4-2. That stage had a Lot of small walkways, so I was being cautious and moving slowly picking off the enemies I could reach with me bow. I Reach a point where I had to fight a Reaver up close. So I killed the reaver and thought I was safe so i relaxed for a bit. All of a sudden I heard this faint giggle and I saw a female shadow lurker phase in, stab me in the back then kick me off the side off the corridor I was on. I jumped and kinda panicked, because I had no idea what had happened. Just faint giggling that I thought was part the the games Atmosphere.

Scariest moment in a game has to be Silent Hill, going into the locker room and hearing a rattle and a bump, then turning a corner only to have a cat come tearing out of a locker, I had to play that game in full sunlight with the support of my wife after that just to be able to play.
