the scariest moment i had i thought would have been playing Resident Evil Directors Cut...but after thinking, the scariest moment was playing Resident Evil 3 Nemesis. One night I thought i was alone at home and the first time running into Nemesis after killing Barry so early in the game freaked me out. Nemesis really scared the piss outta me from then on. Then more scenes shortly after he kept coming and you knew it too with the music hitting and his famous but terrifying voice...."S.T.A.R.S.!!!" Then came a moment when I went through a door and the music hit and "S.T.A.R.S.!!!" then a huge loud object rolled down my stairs and all i did was jump up and run out the door. i later found out my dad was home and drunk off his ass and he missed a step and fell down the stairs. found out he fell asleep after falling and i was glad no one knows about this till now...lol! hope that was entertaining and i hope i got a lot of laughs. take it easy!

I cannot forget this abomination when I got really scared playing Dead Space 1 at the end after fighting the last boss and escaping the area. When Isaac remove his helmet and sat on the pilot seat he's girlfriend body nicole came to life scaring the living hell out of me and Isaac and I suddenly jump marking a mark above my head for hitting the second bed above of my bank bed... lol

I love survival horror games. They don’t get much out of me then a quick jump. But the scariest moment in my gaming life didn’t even come from a game. It came while I was playing fallout 3. I was only about 110 hours into the game when my PS3 beeped at me and shut off. Then my game wouldn’t come out. Then I saw a yellow light show up. Then that fear turned into a nightmare when I called Sony and had to send my system back. Losing 2 years of saved games and stats I had to work back…. I still have nightmares of it happening again.

    What scares me??

One warm fall evening a couple years ago I was playing games on my PS3 in my bed only after putting the kids to bed and the wife finally falling asleep. I didn't have the sound up very high so as to not wake the sleeping game killer in bed next to me. I had rented a game I had been wanting to try. It was actually the first FEAR game. And while playing I was hearing wierd eerie sounds. Not knowing anything about the game I was assuming the sounds were coming from outside my house. Countless number of times I would pause the game and peer out the open windows in the darkness trying to figure out where the sound was coming from. Even turning off the TV a couple times so I had a better chance of seeing what was making those eerie sounds from outside my bedroom window. It wasn't until minutes latter with a racing heart and pounding pulse that it had dawned on me that the eerie sounds were from the game. It did make it hard to play the game that late at night with the windows open but I eventually overcame my fears and tackled the game head on.

The first time i played dead space. I had never heard of the game and my friend it was an action (he compared it to halo) well this was at midnight and i started playing. the game was very quite so i kept turning the sounds louder and louder and then the lights in the game went out and this alien thing pooped out in the screen and i swear ive never screamed so loud in my life. it was so loud that my neightbor called the police cause he though we were been robbed lol it was was definitely a strange conversation about trying to get the cops to believe it was just from a video game lol

Playing DOOM 3 on PC the day it came out, i upgraded my graphics card especially for the game, playing on a 20inch monitor, turned the lights off so the room was pitch black and 5.1 surround sound speaker system ramped up...15-20 mins in i saw a shadow of some creature on the ceiling at the same instant heard some random scary sounds coming from the behind me from the right rear speaker AAAAAAAAAAAAH!... sorry, just reliving it... so yeah my scariest moment in gaming.

Playing Dead Space, there was a point in the game where suddenly (on the hardcore mode) these super beasts came out of nowhere. They were faster than anything else in the game and killed me in hardly the blink of an eye. I hadn't any idea they were coming and so when they did I jumped. The other scary in-game experience for me comes from FEAR 2, when Alma suddenly appears to you for the first time. Nearly jumped out of my seat as I was playing in the dark at night with the stereo cranked up. For the next hour I played overly cautious and nervous of another "appearance" as the first one had me trembling. It affected my dreams that night as she kept re-appearing in my mind and coming at me and making the walls seep with her sadness and anger. It really took a turn when you realize that she was your mother and decided to "take" you. Thinking about how powerless to escape a mother who was both angry and lustful in my dreams was a detached reality that scares one to suppose about that happening in real life.

My own scary moment for a game that will never happen -

Set during the Bosnian war, the srebrenica massacre 1995. A boy searches through the pile of bodies in search for his father who was the commander of the fith brigade, his idol in every way. As teh boy approches the pile of death the sky darkens and cluds draw near. he starts his search, diggin through the remains he spots his fathers watch, he puts the watch on his wrist to be blasted with a flashback of how his father died, it was a radar malfunction, his father was in the thick fog and sent his troops out to find the enemy serbs. his soldiers have been gone for some time and hours later the call in "we spotted someone, permission to kill" his father gives the order to fire and bullets come flying into his skull killing him. The soldiers made a circle and killed their own commander. BANG the flashback ends and the boy is blessed with the realisation that the enemy did not kill his father but his own people did as crazy as it sounds it comforted the boy knowing that he was not killed by the enemys hand. Carrying on with his search he diggs through the bodys in search of his father and gets pulled into the death pit. INTRO DONE PRESS START

Would have to go with hours & hours of blowing the heads off Zombies in Black ops "very" late at night . It "ALWAYS" results in "offline game play in your head" while asleep in bed afterwards
You get up in the morning looking like a zombie yourself LOL

    my scariest moments in gaming

Frist scary game i played on ps3 was Fear 1. It was so creep playing this game from.the disturbing.images and eire ghost.poping in and out of your face it was so damn spooky. The part.when you woke up in a dream state drowning in a pool of blood tryin to swim to the.surface.had my heart in a panic. just thinking about that moment playin that.is still.embed in my mine today the.frist.fear was.diffently.most.scary.

Secondly...Siren blood curse...I actully imported asian.blu ray verison.Siren.new translation same game.just wanted it early. As soon as I pop this game.in I was diffently set a scarey mood I always played alone in the dark. My heart always raced when a zombie spoooted.me.and I had to run a way.and hide where ever i was allowed. It was such a trip playing this game I love japanese horror games. Having to duck dodge the.shinbetu being.differnt characters from an american.black.man.to a.small.asian.girl the game.couldnt be more.diverse.

I think the moment that scared me the most whilst playing a videogame was playing Alien Trilogy back on the PS1. It came out in '96 when I was only 6 years old and I managed to have a sneaky game of it without knowing what to expect on my older brothers PlayStation whilst he was downstairs. I remember seeing a Facehugger and thinking "oooohhh look a spider!!" and the next thing I know this monstrous Facehugger is crawling all over the screen....My bro found me curled up in a ball crying saying "Turn it off! Turn it off!" whilst facehuggers continued to crawl up the screen! I stuck with games like Rayman after that!

    Ahhhhhhggggg

The scariest moment I had was when I just bought Resident Evil 3 nemesis and it was late. The tv was up loud, room was dark, and the blinds were left open from the morning. My dad just got home from his late shift and decided to scare me. As I was playing the game, I went thru a door and my dad popped up on my window with the face pressed up against the glass. I screamed my ass off....that was the last time I played at night lol.

Mine might be as generic as everyone else, yeah Dead Space.. Most of Dead Space had me jumping around and what not, but the one that really got me was when the Uber Necromorph came out of no where it basically made me scream like a little girl, woke everyone up and i "acciedentally" let go of my controller and almost broke my TV, so i almost had to buy a whole new TV and new controller, but luckly i got away with only a small dent on the controller and TV.

I had replied on your PSU news, but since I don't know if you'll combine them here is my reply again:

That's an easy one. For me it would be while playing the original Doom on the PC; I used to play in the dark and I would remove the music leaving only the sounds, it would get really creepy to walk around and hear the enemy but not knowing at what point they and from what direction they would jump at you. It would be particularly disturbing when you had to activate a switch or open a door and you were almost certain things would get ugly.
... those were the days =)

One of my scariest moment in gaming was with Condemned 2. I was walking in the forest house and there was some strange noise. Then bam!, a giant grizzly blast through a wall. I jumped so high. Never thought something like that would happened.

The first game I bought was half-life 2. My parents weren't agree with it at all so I sneeked to my pc in the basement. There I had to put all the lights out otherwise they would notice. So I started playing with the sound just hard enough that I could hear it clearly with my face a few inches from the screen. After playing over an hour and a few horrifying moments later I was walking in a sewer (in the game ofc ) when WHAM! out of the dark a headcrab jumped to my face. I literally fell backwards with my chair, there I lay for 20 seconds al shooked up.
I was 12 at that time. Afterwards it took me 3 months before I had the courage to start playing it again

My scarriest moment in gaming happened a couple of years ago...and keep in mind this is coming from an adult. I was playing resident evil 5 I believe, I was battling some zombies..go figure huh. Just as I cleared out a section of the map I thought I was good to go for a lil minute, however, I end up in a pit with several chainsaw wielding zombies. I was like oh sh!t, so I start going at it with these fools and what do you think happens next? As I am sitting on my couch, focusing on my 65" tv trying my best to kill the unkillable... or in this case the already dead. I big hairy spider drops down from my ceiling. Thank god it doesn't land on me but it dangles there from it's web right infront of myt face. I freak, jump up yelling for my wife. My wife and kid comes running into the room only to see me sprinting to the other side of the room shaking my hair and body (to make sure there is not spiders on me) I explain I just got attacked by a spider and it was chilling there waiting for me. My 6yo kid grabs a shoe and kills it but by that time I had already died(in game). All I can say is thank you for game saves. That is my one weakness is spiders.....they just freak me out.
