I just tried sushi for the first time, the california roll.
What did I think? It was good! I could barely taste the rice, but whatever else was in the rice was good! It had a weird taste to it, like a spicy taste or something.
I liked it and would like to try some more. What other rolls should I try? I can't remember the name of the rolls, but someone recommended california rolls for the first time and that worked out well. So just recommend a roll or two and they may have it.
Did you like sushi when you tried it the first time? What were your impressions?

There are so many different variations of sushi it's difficult to try once and make an accurate assessment. I have a room-mate who's tried it before and neither I, or my sister feel he's given it a fair go. The closest and simplest comparison I can give is like saying you dislike all beer after trying a few. It took me a while to learn I like light beer, but hate dark/creamy beers. Too many varieties to give it a go and make a final judgement.
Usually when I go out for Sushi I don't get a box, not only do I find it limits what I'm eating, but is also overpriced. Typically I go to one of the many "all you can eat" places we have around here. Able to order whatever you want off the menu and everything is prepared (for the most part) on the spot. This way I can have a massive variety and stuff my face. Absolutely delicious.
I'm not a big fan of sashimi though.

I've never been a fan of fish anyway, mainly due to stressing about bone in my food. The smell put me off initially on the stuff I had, but I didn't let that phase me because I don't really like the smell of Stilton but I like the taste. Anyway to cut a long story short, I tried about 6 types of which I can't remember the name, each was gross so I thought fuck it, and went to La Strada and had a nice Pizza instead,

Just messing, dude. I'm not too bad with fish. I'll eat cod, haddock, tuna, salmon, etc but I just couldn't stomach the taste of raw fish. The smell wasn't too bad and it looked somewhat appealing. But the taste was - it's just so disgusting. Tasted really oily, eurgh. I think my mates and I just went to KFC later that night, much better than sushi.

My personal opinions are not endorsed by PSU. But they should be.

Love it. Shrimp tempura, teriyaki and alaskan salmon rolls are my faves.

I've only tried a couple rolls, but I think they are OK. Mt. Fuji roll was the best I had. Not sure if it's a popular one, but the Japanese Habachi Steakhouse here has them and they're pretty damn good.

That was like me the first time I tried a Thai panang curry. Blew my mind from the mouth up xD. Not because of the heat but the amazing delicious flavor.
