Single player sewer content only available to those who buy the game new
Rage is to feature its own version of the increasingly popular online pass, which blocks second hand game buyers from accessing select game content.
"We have the first-time buyer stuff with all the sewers," id creative director Tim Willits told Eurogamer.
"If you bought the game new, that would be open for you. You still have to download it, but you don't have to pay for it. Those [sewer] hatches are all over. Most people never find them. But as soon as you do, you're like, oh. And then you start to look for it. That's our first-time buyer incentive."
Willits went on to say that Rage's single player game is larger and more in-depth than any previous id game, and that even those with access to the sewer content may not end up playing it.
"Most people never even see it. I can tell you, some people will buy Rage, download that, and still never set foot in those things. They just won't. I think that's fair. It's cool. It's outside the main path. We're not detracting from anything. But I know some consumers, when you can't avoid it, then you get a little touchy subject."
Last week publisher Bethesda detailed the Rage Collector's Pack, which will be available exclusively at GAME when it launches in the UK on October 7.

It still should be open to all but what can you do.
Remember that i'm going to die is the best way I know to avoid trap of thinking you have something to lose, you're already naked, there's no reason not to follow your heart.
This is old news, do you just copy paste without looking if it has been posted?
I remember Assassins creed 2 doing that but for all players, they blocked codex 12-13 if i remember correctly and made people purchase them as dlc. people should not support any kind of disc locked content in single player whether it's second hand or not.

It really sucks how these companies are finding more and more ways to nickel and dime us. But damn, RAGE and R3 are my two most anticipated games of this year. There's no way I'm not buying them...
