I'm 16, and I bought a 120GB Slim PS3 in November 2009 for $299. I got the Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time / LittleBigPlanet bundle at Best Buy.

From my understanding, most playstationers or should we call them O.A.P's are gamers from the beginning of the console era, arcaders
The ones that read Nintendo/Sega power and watched gamesmaster on channel 4, who got excited over a arcade perfect port of the latest fighting game, who imported games like samurai showdown
Who knows MG was just a port on the nes which had nothing to do with kojima and the nes sequal Snake revenge should burn in hell, sorry lol
But yeah, thats what I get and with have te new generation
Now the others are in few, Nintendo gamers are mostly kids with the odd Nintendo loyalist from our generation, Xbox is the same, kids and Sega dream cast refugees and a few PC gamers and the odd playstation defector lol

Why not then. I started gaming as a whole at my friends' places. N64, Dreamcast, PS1, and probably others. Finally got my own console, PS2 launch year. Been with officially with Sony since.

I'm pretty fascinated by the numbers thus far. The majority of 360 fans I have ran into throughout the years have been teenagers/younger folk. I'm intrigued by the numbers. Definitely not what I was expecting. I'm glad so many people responded on each thread though. Good data to have for my class project.
Each set of data is relatively the same. Each has extremes on each end of the spectrum, but the mean is dead set on the 26-29 age range for both.
and I never said 360 owners were "kids". Simply a younger demographic. I wasn't trying to be condescending or negative in any way.Last edited by unicron7; 08-19-2011 at 02:15.

I'm 24 and bought a 60gb PS3 Summer 2007, then a slim Summer 2010.
I talk to myself because I'm the only one whose answers I accept.

The average IQ of the poster would make me think otherwise. 30 year olds wouldn't fight over my console is better than yours. In either case, an age demographic poll done on the internet (on any site) cannot be conclusive evidence ,anyone can choose anything.
But from my personal experience, by gaming with and chatting to gamers online, this is how i make out the age demographic (still not conclusive as i wouldn't have gamed with everyone but this is how i make it out):
pc gamers > ps3 gamers > 360 gamers.
Just try playing cod online on xbl and you'll be bombarded with kids. I almost feel ashamed gaming with those tweens to the point i feel like quitting the session.Last edited by rene2kx; 08-19-2011 at 09:59.

wo that's some dedication. bravo. myself, this is the last console generation for me. I started gaming in 1988. I'm re-locating in '14 to another (smaller) country and don't even know playstation or xbox would be available there. i may build another pc rig sometime later but consoles would be done after '14. So no ps4 vs xbox 720 baseless pissing contests for me. my favorite console is and will always be dreamcast.

I thought it was pretty obvious that the 360 community is, if only marginally, younger.

What does IQ have to do with someone supporting their product of choice? I guess my car enthusiast friends in NZ who would debate whether Holden or Ford is better are in the same boat. Also, my friends at airport security who would debate android vs ios in the staff room, as well as my father and his son in law giving each other shit over their favorite soccer teams. Yeah, I guess anyone who has a slightly competitive nature when it comes to products etc that are engaged in competition must be acting in a manner unbecoming of adulthood. Aww, all you silly forum kids, everyone should just buy a 360, PS3 and a PC so that you can be "unbiased" (ya right lol) and act more grown up.
