Source.Kojima Productions have confirmed at TGS 2011 that Metal Gear Solid: Rising will be most certainly be appearingin 2012 on Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and now……………….(drum roll)………..Playstation Vita.
Rising made a rather unexpected appearance at TGS with Kojima himself showing off an ‘Under Construction’ Rising image with Raiden himself wearing a yellow hard hat. It has also been revealed that Rising will utilize KP’s in house Fox Engine. That’s probably why the game appears to have been in development for a billion years.
Great news. Bring it Kojima.
Great news!

I don't know why... I'm just not anywhere close to as excited for Rising as I was for... pretty much any other MG game (though my interest in Peace Walker dropped after I learned they removed crawling... Gotta figure out if I believe story truly is more important than gameplay... I'll play through Peacewalker after buying the HD release)

I was bummed about lack of crawling too, until I played it! PW rocks! Easily the most interesting MGS experience (i said interesting, not epic, epic goes to MGS 3 and 4).
I am keen for Risisng, I like the idea of it.
Of course! Not officially confirmed but when all the MGS HD remakes do it aswell as ZoE HD, this will too. It was Kojimas dream to be able to do this transfarring thing.Last edited by Ghost-Rhayne; 09-19-2011 at 12:09.

This bitch is packed with so many features and has so many games lined up, its crazy. I was VERY glad to hear Rising will join the fun. Any game Kojima releases from here on in will get a Vita release.
KP are in a very interesting place, with a new engine and a love of PS3/PSP/PSVita transfarring, Sony will keep getting the love.

I agree. This thing is becoming better and better. Sony is paying massive attention to the vita by all the damn accessories and games. As for transfarring i can't wait to see how it's utilized but with all these great minds working on it i have no doubt it's gonna be epic.

The Vita is probably Sony's best thought out platform ever. I think the PS3 launch was the wake up call they needed.

Is there a better source for this? Last I heard, the only thing Kojima announced was that Fox Engine would be on Vita, he didn't say anything about MGS:R on Vita. And why haven't any of the other, bigger sites picked up this story?

I'm kind of loving/hating all this PS3-Vita connectivity. In one hand, I'd love to be able to take my PS3 on the go, so Vita comes in as such a great device with cross-platform saves, remote play and such. On the other hand, I wish developers would just announce new games that fully use all of Vita's functions and power, and not just feeling tacked on but thought from the drawing board. I really don't want to buy the same games that I want to play home. Give me some portable goodness.

I second Zoibie's question. Better sources? I would think other sites would have picked on this news, but this unknown and clearly a highly unprofessional site/blog doesn't really sound like the most reliable source. I mean...
Seriously? The game's been in development for about 2 years. When did that turn into a "billion years"? It's not like Kojima Productions hasn't done anything else in that time (MGS PW, helped with Castlevania, MGS HD Collection, ZOE HD Collection and they developed the Fox Engine) so maybe Rising has not quite gotten the full attention of a big team just yet, which is why it appears like the development isn't advancing too quickly. Pretty much the same kind of thing that happened with FF Versus XIII (was announced when they hadn't even started working on the game, Nomura & KH Team busy with other projects, development of the Crystal Tools). That’s probably why the game appears to have been in development for a billion years.

Source.Hideo Kojima said during a recent Kojima Productions podcast that the cloud data sharing system he created from dragonscales, Old Snake's mustache trimmings and cardboard boxes -- "Transfarring" -- will be available for every title his studio releases in the future. That means all of its games going forward, including the Metal Gear Solid and Zone of the Enders re-releases, Metal Gear Solid Rising and the new Fox Engine game, will all presumably provide some connection between the PS3 and PS Vita.
It was just a sneaky lil poster at TGS, but all prior statements and evidence point to this. I don't know why major sites havent picked up on it.""We have a plan moving forward, where all of our major titles will have this transfarring functionality. So you'll buy the next big game from Kojima Productions on PS3, and there'll also be an NGP version [PSVita] and take it on the go." - KP PodcastPSU GHOST SYNDICATE - DUST 514 Media HUB - Podcast - BLOG (Soon™)

So... basically, Rising ISN'T quite confirmed. That comment doesn't 100% confirm it, though it does raise it as a possibility. It could end up being more of a "every game we started developing after we came up with this whole Transfarring-business will have PS3 <-> Vita connectivity" (meaning: MGS HD, ZoE HD, Kojima's new game), which could still leave Rising out of it which was planned for PS360 and they might've not taken Vita-development into consideration while developing it. The thread OP/news makes it seem as if it was SPECIFICALLY announced at TGS, which really isn't the case.
It could happen, or it might not. I'd still rather wait for an official confirmation rather than get hyped from pure conjecture of one single comment that doesn't even mention Rising by name.

I just like saying(typing) transfarring, makes me remember being 5 or 6 and my friend had Metal Gear on NES and I played a couple minutes and the guy exclaims: "I feel asleep" - growing up in a mostly asian town (and having my shoes off with his grandma glaring at the white devil) it seemed way too awesome.
Rising sort of excites me, I've played all the Metal Gears for some reason despite not really liking/having the patience for sneaking games, but mgs4 was fun because it was a good balance of stealth and action, this game will likely have the absurdly long cut scenes and a lot more action (even though Raiden is basically the worst thing about mgs games)
I suck at these games and in PW I'd F up and try to retreat and hit a previous loading screen, ugh.

Anyone who believes this console isnt gonna fly off the shelves, i have a feeling theyre probably going to be mistaken. I was at my local best buy the other day and the guy said a little over 200 people have pre-ordered it in the store already. With HUGE titles like this, and Transfarring, it gives a lot more people that have both a ps3 and a 360 to get the PS3 Version of the game if they plan on getting a Vita. I personally cant wait, because my favorite franchises, like MLB 12 The Show will porobably be able to split save data between the ps3 and Vita versions. MGS HD re-releases and MGS Rising, are kind of just icing on the cake.
