Did Michael Vick deserve all that punishment for fighting and torturing all those dogs?
I believe he did. Some people think dogs are just dogs, but dogs can feel too. The dog he electrocuted could feel all the pain and that dog has a life just like you and me. Life is a precious thing.

What he did was completely wrong but he got caught and did the time for it. That's why people shouldn't look to celebrities as role models, because they're humans too that make mistakes.

He deserved it, Ray Lewis and Donte Stallworth deserved more. That being said he did the time and seems to have matured alot because of it, not to mention getting another big pay day. I think that 2 years was a drop in the bucket, but it wasn't a human being and although I value animal life it isn't the same.

While maybe a little extreme, dog fighting is a serious issue and something that needs to be stopped. I do think that some of the talk, backlash and all around hype was a little incessant. I'm not sure I disagree with the length of the imprisonment, as some have, but I do think he was made an example of. And to a degree, for good reason. Professional athletes tend to catch a lot of passes or receive light slaps on the wrist. I think Plaxico is a good example of excessive punishment and being made an example of. Regardless of state / city laws, when you compare to (As someone mentioned) Stallworth, it is a clear example of how one athlete gets off lightly and another is the example.
I'm all for athlete's getting due justice when necessary. In this case I think it was appropriate, but I got so sick of people literally shitting themselves over the matter. Yes, dog fighting is terrible, but get over it. Dog fighting continues, that is the real issue. Vick did his time. Hell, I've heard more about his dog fighting since his return than the Worthlesburger allegations ... twice alleged. But now he's married, so we can forget about all that.

the truth is, animals were on this planet way before us and humans have no right to attack any animal on this planet no matter any reason. We might live here, we do not own this planet and to be frank... the animals own this planet and we just are the renters of this planet.
So fuck any human attacking animals, its wrong and plain and simple

Mike Vick served more time than Stallworth did for killing someone while drinking and driving. Stallworth bought his way out which is complete bullshit. They set an example out of Vick.

My thoughts exactly. What he did was really fucked up but he did serve some jail time. I'm sure it wasn't quite "jail" time but he was taken from society for a while. He seems to have taken all the steps to better his life and stay out of trouble. As for the other 2 not even going to get started on them. I personally thought Plaxico got a little too much for what he did and as far as I know had no prior record. Could be wrong though. As someone said, don't look to athletes, superstars, and musicians as role models. They are bound to make mistakes and they are always in the spotlight so it is a matter of time before it is brought to the public.

Vick is a piece of shit. Anyone that can do that or let that happen to an animal deserves more than he got. I don't think he should have been allowed back in the NFL and I refuse to support any company that endorses him. To anyone that didn't catch the radio interview he did, here's some quotes:
He feels that reporters are the only ones that care about what he did, which is horseshit."They [reporters] are writing as if everyone feels that way and has the same opinions they do. But when I go out in public, it's all positive, so that's obviously not true."
He's blaming dog-fighting on the fact that he grew up in a poor neighborhood. Like he just fought dogs because that's how he grew up....please..."Yeah, you got the family dog and the white picket fence, and you just think that's all there is. Some of us had to grow up in poverty-stricken urban neighborhoods, and we just had to adapt to our environment. I know that it's wrong. But people act like it's some crazy thing they never heard of. They don't know."
"It's almost as if everyone wanted to hate me. But what have I done to anybody? It was something that happened, and it was people trying to make some money."Boo hoo. Poor Michael Vick misses owning dogs. Yeah, well maybe you shouldn't have brutally killed them for money. You don't do that to 'companions'. What a piece of shit..."I miss dogs, man," he says. "I always had a family pet, always had a dog growing up. It was almost equivalent to the prison sentence, having something taken away from me for three years. I want a dog just for the sake of my kids, but also me. I miss my companions."

Yes, i believe he did deserve the time. I don't know about all of the time but for at least a good majority. Even though that was the past, people still hold that agaisnt them. I think that that is wrong, and they shouldn't criticize or judge him just because of his past. Also, i honestly think that he should of been kicked out of football. I don't have anything agaisnt him, It's just that the NFL doesn't need a bad example like Vick in the league.

Actually where I'm from dog fighting is normal and openly talked about and I'm pretty sure by your comment on this that you had a much better life than I did while growing up. Don't speak on something you don't know anything about.
Now on-topic -
In my opinion, what he did was completely wrong and he should have been punished for what he did but people need to stop crucifying him like he's the devil. People have done way worse things in this world than this and they don't receive this bad of treatment. Also, I think 2 years in prison was a lot since, like other people have stated, there have been people who have killed other people and received less time and there have been other people who have killed dogs and been involved in dog fighting and received less time.

It's funny that in this day in age people can steal as long as they have a reason too. Even if that reason is created by the thieves themselves.

Maybe you misunderstood me. I'm saying that I feel like Vick is using this as a cop-out. I understand that it is a culture and way of life in some areas of the world, but the guy was 27 years old when he was doing this. Am I expected to believe that someone who had a college education still thought that dog fighting was acceptable? He knew it was wrong and he did it anyway. And that is why he is a piece of shit.

If you honestly believe that he should burn to death for this then I'm sorry but your more delusional than I originally thought. Animals die all the time should the people who kill them burn to death too or is this a special occasion where you feel he deserves worse than anybody in the world? Money doesn't change people. If you've grown up knowing something you won't just change that because you received money.
It's not really a cop-out if you grew up a certain way. Just because you become older that doesn't mean you forget your childhood. It's funny that in this day in age people can steal as long as they have a reason too. Even if that reason is created by the thieves themselves.
