    still a great phone though.
Hmm, withouth this turning into a vS. thread; and apart from Retina display and AMOLED + (which is user preference) the S2 is actually really smooth, even on stock.

I just don't like Touchwiz which is why I prefer being able to flash other things.

I think when iOS users say that, it really is just a carry-over from the days when old Android versions (donut, Eclair) weren't as quick as the Gingerbread or ICS builds that we have now.

Features-wise the S2 has more. But I can see why hipsters and other people like the 'design' (read: marketing brain wash) of iOS.

    It's still good though.

All of those are either stock features of Android or can easily be attianiend via ROM flash!

Good that guys like Red-sn0w etc give iOS users functionality of Android though.

    #IndieStation4 and proud of it.

I use an iPhone 4S. I’ve been in the tech industry for 24+ years, 3rd company (actually just became a partner in a 4th), writer, architect, developer, so I approach my technology decisions with a fair amount of experience. iOS is fast, consistent, and I’m all about reliability and availability. I’m currently developing solutions to take a couple of our Enterprise products into the mobile space, on both Android and iOS, so I own and have a decent amount of exposure on both platforms.

My wife also has a 4, so that allows her to pick up my phone, and with the exception of maybe a little app organization, operate my 4S with no problems.

I spend my mobile time in apps. It’s that simple, I don’t really care about anything other than being able to do things that allow me to share with my family, communicate, manage my business and generate revenue. The 4S (and iOS) does all that with outstanding execution. I also appreciate market penetration of iOS, which means there’s all sort of terrific integration/expansion/peripherals, for example, the Alpine X100 HU in my car (full music integration, playlists, counts, charging), our recent purchase of a Pioneer VSX-1021 (Airplay, tuning, controller), etc.

Yes... they can easily be attained by... hacking your phone just like they are easily attained by... hacking the iPhone. Most people don't need those features and the ones that do are the ones that jailbreak their phones anyway.

I use the iPhone because it is conducive to my current workflow. That and iOS has always been more stable for me than any iteration of Android. ICS is a step in the right direction, but I still prefer iOS.

I'm glad we all have the option to choose depending on our needs. It's a wonderful world we live in and I'm glad there's competition.

    This.

There are so many more third-party peripherals for the iPhone than there are for Android phones. It's very expandable.

just not as smooth as iOS (in my experience) .

for me it comes down to the screen and smoothness of the phone, and nothing really beats the iPhone in either of those departments. I do love the bigger screens on android devices though, really hoping Apple pushes out a 4 inch screen on the iPhone 5.

I had it for less than 12 hours now but it's so good so far. A lot faster than my old Xperia Arc and a lot smoother. Also the text is sharp and clean touch is very fast and responsive unlike my Xperia Arc was sometimes lagging or not as responsive. The camera didn't try it out yet but will do when i get the chance, Speakers are loud and clear and most of all it's big enough for my hands

I agree, I've been sold on the Xperia S since CES. I'd have no issues replacing my S2 with it
You're right about the Android overlay on Sony phones too - it's classy as $#@!

Everyone's entitled to their own opinion for the phones themselves so i won't argue with you, but you gotta be joking with this statement.....

PCs are very much like Air Conditioners.
They both become utterly useless once you start to open up Windows....

I like iPhones but they're too boring and un-techie for me lol.

My Evo 4g just broke 2 months before my upgrade, so I'm stuck with an lg optimus s but I'm getting the galaxy nexus unless something better is announced

    Congrats boys.

Sony have come a long way since the X10(which wasn't a bad phone - software got better after a while, and mostly thanks to XDA ).

And THIS was the first touch screen smartphone. It may not be the prettiest, but it was the first. And wasn't bad for it's time.

Apple is onily as innovative as what they choose to steal, or falsely market as them doing something first.

BTW I ahve no problem what OS you use, and Apple make nicely (not the best by a loong shot) made phones; but don't make out like they invented or innovated anything.

If anything, they're good at giving 'second opinions' on devices rather than breakthroughs.

I loved my X10, people bad name it but the Racheal UI was beautiful, best camera at the time & when did get upgrades although not the latest(except GB) Sony gave it things like HD recording while over companies with the latest FW was releasing new phone to had HD recording lol.
oh and I believe there was a Sony ericsson cybershot phone which had a normal keypad but had touch navigation.

Edit, it was Sony Ericsson CyberShot K850i

oh and I believe there was a Sony ericsson cybershot phone which had a normal keypad but had touch navigation.
That phone was my first true experience with the Android OS.

My first was the Chinese aPad.

It was cool ,the camera had smile detection and HD recording and everything. My fond memories of first flashing the phone an being awed by what Android (or rather the crowd-sourcing community's enhancements) could do.

Had to buy the SGS2 since I broke the charging/USB port, and has been since passed down.

    #IndieStation4 and proud of it.

I loved the X10. The only real complaint I had about it was when Sony said that the device would not nor could not support multi-touch as the device hardware itself wasn't able to do it....
Only for XDA to implement it.....
The hardware is incapable huh Sony o_O?

I still have one plus an extra black and white housing replacement for it. :P

Good call on that Ericson admartian I remember her, tho she wasn't my first sad to say. I did want her tho. I also agree with what you said. I don't care for iOS, but that doesn't mean it doesn't suit other people. Its about choices. Its better to have one then to not.

Apple are genius' at taking someone else's idea, making improvements to it and then passing them off as they're own inventions entirely. Well, Steve Jobs was. Well see how good Apple is at it now after Jobs' back catalog runs dry and they need to think up something on their own.

PCs are very much like Air Conditioners.
They both become utterly useless once you start to open up Windows....
