Marco Simoncelli has died after a crash in the Malaysian MotoGP.

Such a shame, watched it on live TV this morning (I don't often watch MotoGP but seeing as there was no F1 this weekend i thought i would) and i was shocked. I know you often see crashes in MotoGP but this one was disgusting and when his helmet came off you knew it wasn't going to end well.

What made it worse is mere minutes before the crash they had his girlfriend/wife on camera waving and smiling. I could only begin to imagine what she, his friends and family are going through now.

Another talented person in motorsports gone too young.

Italian motorcycle rider Marco Simoncelli has died after a crash in the Malaysian MotoGP.

The 24-year-old's helmet was knocked off when he fell and was hit by Colin Edwards and Valentino Rossi as he slid across the track on his Honda.
The season's penultimate race was abandoned immediately after the collision just four minutes into the event, as Simoncelli lay motionless on the track.
Yamaha's Edwards also came off his bike but escaped serious injury, while Rossi was able to nurse his Ducati back to the pits.
Simoncelli lay stricken on the track before being taken to the circuit's medical centre where he was pronounced dead.
Casey Stoner, who won his second MotoGP title at his home Australian Grand Prix last week, said: "As soon as I saw the footage it just makes you sick inside.
"Whenever the helmet comes off that's not a good sign."

Video in OP has been taken down by Youtube. It's quite a disturbing video, watch with caution. I watched it live this morning too as I often do and, as horrible as it sounds, Simoncelli looked dead upon impact. He just looked so lifeless on the track. He did have a bike smash into his head, though, what do you expect? I feel so sorry for his family but I also feel sorry for Colin Edwards and Valentino Rossi - imagine the guilt they're going to be racked with. It wasn't their fault, I know, but damn.

Loyalty to petrified opinion never yet broke a chain or freed a human soul.

It's such a shame but that's the way with motorsports; extremely dangerous. I don't know much about MotoGP but from what I've heard he had a exceptional career ahead of him.

No doubt Edwards and Rossi would be feeling guilty but there was nothing they would've been able to do from preventing it. Just one of those horrible accidents
