PS3 HDD Replacement

Hey guys,

I am not certain on this but can you replace the HDD from one PS3 to the other and keep the original data on the system?

I found the answer. The PS3 slim will reformat it -- if this is incorrect you may correct me otherwise the thread can be closed.

Nope, you're right, the PS3 will force you to format it. You've got to back it up first, then put it into the PS3, format, then restore.

Yeah, I read about that on the official forums and had read about it before as well but couldn't remember where so thought I should double-check.

Only way is to create a back-up, format, and restore.
