Correct. Hehe, exclusive means nothing to Youtube. But for people who can do it, iTunes is better quality. Just saying.

Edit: Looks like two ships on Prometheus.. One is a landing craft..

Lmao dude, the pyramid has a face just like the Giger pyramid you and I discussed blacksite! Did you see it? I called it! Rather than a healthy baby face though it's a skull.

    Like this one:

    So classic Giger.

    Re-Edit:
"My theory is that, that..."Croissant", I've called it a, "Croissant", the Ship//and...I thought it was a Battleship. It was a
Carrier - I always thought it was a Carrier. What is it? Why?...

    People say, 'Is it a building?' I said, No. It's a vehicle..that
doesn'tlook like it crashed - it looked like it may have forced landing, but it landed. And, um...why did it land and why was the Pilot, damaged?
    Because
that...his cargo...had - something had got loose..in the cargo: had evolved and had actually taken him, out.

And so, what could that be?..

And therefore - like, all that technology, in any technology, whether it's Millions of years past, or Millions of years in the future, they'll always have a Distress Signal.

So, had he set up a Distress Signal, that, we - in our 20th Century/21st Century electronics - had caught up [with] technology which was a Million years old, and said, "Gee, what's that, uh...thing? We should land...". OK?...

And; that was the genesis of Alien 1...“.
    - Ridley Scott, [to Geoff Boucher], April 2012.

^ If this is true, than the 'Alien' and the 'Derelict' from the original have been sitting on LV426 long before the events of Prometheus. Long before. So the weapons or tech they have onboard are old... What will the Jockeys be using in Prometheus?

If the original Xeno is the 'old model' what will 2.0 look like?

    Just some thoughts.

    Edit:
this .gif also might explain why we have that hologram of the engineer running away. I think what we're going to see here is a recording of something bad about to happen and one of the engineers (The survivor) fleeing the scene.

Here are some Engineers\SJ in a hologram walking around with David in the middle of the Orrery

I don't follow. All I can see that he said was the Space Jockey's are much more advanced than us. I don't see how that determines the Derelict has been there for millions of years, unless your reading into this literally.

From what I could tell, he's just saying that technology will always some kind of distress signal. Since we're so far behind this race though, we can't properly decipher it and so they went investigating (Alien).

If the Derelict was that ancient, wouldn't the ship in Prometheus look much different with evolved technology? I guess unless this establishment is just as ancient but I don't think that's what your saying.

Scott is saying that ship has been there for an extremely long time. That the ship, while highly advanced, is ludicrously old.

    http://masempul.org/wp-content/uploa...l-in-there.jpg

^ Btw, this is what I was saying in this thread earlier. Look at the sarcophagus. There is a body still in there (its translucent) and there is a hole burst out of the top near the chest region.

This, possibly, alludes to a xenomorph outbreak. It's entirely possible what happened on the Derelict from the first Alien was not an isolated incident.. What if it was an epidemic?

Getting back to the "Alien" derelict being ancient, well it has huge implications. If the Alien from the original is an aberrant mutation\old technology, what will the creatures in Prometheus be like? Yea, it's a prequel but (possibly) the stuff the SJ will have at his disposal now will certainly outclass whatever our old dead friend had in the original. Interesting thought.

Hmmm.... so the Derelict is ancient but the events of Alien hasn't happened yet. We'll see more advanced tactics/weaponry than what will happen in the future events that is Alien. I can actually buy that but like I said before... how are the two crafts nearly identical if if the derelict is ancient? Even if it was just thousands of years, their race nor their ships change in all that time?

I do see the "chest-burster" element your getting at. And considering the hologram and your theory about an event on the ship, I'm on board with that.

So possibly, this argument is flipped... this isn't pre-xenos, it's actually post.

Well, I mean consider the possibility that the race may in fact be hundreds of millions or even a billion or so years old... After a certain point technological progression wouldn't be noticeably huge I guess. If we're speaking in terms of thousands of years..

Even you said it looked like they took the model from LV426 (?) and flipped it to make the ship in prometheus. Same paint job, same interiors, even the EXACT same cockpit... hence the original theory of this ship being in the same fleet as the derelict in Alien.

I'm not asking for a complete redesign, but this is way too close to be longer than a few decades. Unless their ships last thousands and thousands of years and they use them that long... that's something of a stretch IMO.

Well, the primary difference between the two ships is the arm-prong orientation (horizontal vs vertical) and the texture and coloration of the ship itself is a bit different.

We do know that the Space Jockey race massively predates humanity.. So that means they're atleast, bare minimum, 50k+ years old. More than likely far greater than that. Human technology and innovation has only recently begun to grow exponentially, but the question is after a certain point how 'great' or 'noticeable' would advancements be?

If the SJ/Engineer race are millions of years old, and for the majority of their existence they've been an interstellar space faring race.. What are the real differences between a ship that is, say, 10,000 years old and only 50? On a time scale of their race that isn't even a blip on the map.. And presumably these engineers don't age and die like humans do. The term to describe them in interviews is 'practically immortal'.

I mean that is kind of a game changer. For us humans its very hard to wrap our heads around.. We're used to these massive leaps of technology in every decade or so. But how long can that go on until the leaps just aren't meaningful vs the established body of technology?

Kind of like gaming how after a certain threshold even if the hardware advancements are massive, the jump to the next console cycle won't appear as huge compared to the last one. We're reaching a point where we are starting to get diminishing tangible returns in some places. Although obviously our socks will still be blown off, it won't be like that first transition from 2D--> full 3D gaming.

That's pretty much where my head is at.

I'm trying to be objective about this but, no matter, it's hard not to influenced since it's the only thing we know.

I'm still wondering what it is exactly that Fifield mutates into after being exposed to the substance he touches. I can't help but imagine something really terrifying.

His physiology, from what we've seen of his 'hangar attack' sequence, appears to be very much like that of a xenomorph.. Elongated spindley limbs and a long tubular head... Seemingly.

It seems that there are atleast two mutations. Fifield (which we all assume because of the distinctive hairdo of the jumping guy) and Holloway. But both appear to be radically different.

I'm curious as to what infects Fifield.. Is it what Shaw gives birth to?

And Holloway looks like he's becoming a jockey, albeit much smaller.

Fifield, I believe, was the one that says, "Are these things moving?" in the trailer. So I don't think it's the squid-like creature that gets extracted from Shaw. That looks like it takes place later in the movie, after the Prometheus crashes into and takes down the bio ship.

I know the feeling. I'm about to move so my activity might be a little more limited thankfully

Sometimes I just skip over comments. Theories here and there I like to discuss... But when it starts going into specific plot details I started leap frogging them.

We only have about a month to go. Well the day Avengers hits we will, officially.

A good gif of our friend, The Engineer. Btw Blacksite, take note of the sarcophagus on the bottom left/center of the gif. You can see the burst out hole coming from the chest region.

You could see it in the snapshot you posted back in February as well.

And am I the only one reminded of the Xenomorphs after looking at the Space Jockeys? Not just because of the black suit, but even their eyes look hollow.
