That's the 2nd week ni no kunis been out right? Those sales are poor and being outsold by CoD again, wtf is going on over there. lol

Surprised at how well the PSP is still selling despite Vita out in less than a month.

Yeah I expected more from Ni No Kuni but it should stay around the 20K mark for awhile. I'm surprised MW3 has managed to stay in the top 20 for its second week.

FF Type-0 is doing amazing though.

194,978 only for Zelda's first week says a lot about the state of consoles in Japan...

Zelda used to break close to a million easily, if not more, in its first week in Japan. What's up with that ?

Otherwise, same shit as usual, DS on top, PS3/PSP selling decently and the 360 trying hard but still relevant.

Yeah I was expecting more from LoZ as well, they might rerelease it with updated graphics on Wii U though.

I'm with ddplanet on this one, it kinda illustrates the attitude and allure of console gaming in Japan. If that was a handheld Zelda it would have sold a shit load in the first week

I dunno tbh, I think Zelda has just had its day really, even if it was on DS/3DS I don't think it'll wouldve done what it used to, its definitely not Dragon Quest, the sales that DQ9 managed is what Zelda used to do.

Most of the smaller game stores don't have any now, you have to the big stores.

Same reason people still buy PS2 over PS3, its cheaper and has a much bigger library. When the Vita drops to $99 and has a ton of games they'll jump onto that.

I find the 3DS numbers very interesting. Software is lacking yet the unit sales are extremely high. It is not as if it is a new piece of hardware either - since the launch hype has had time to wear down. Must be the anticipation of the coming games i.e. Mario Kart and Monster Hunter. Or maybe the marketing is spot-on over in Japan.

Post price-cut the fortunes of the 3DS have dramatically improved in Japan. It seems Nintendo still remains the top-dog in portable machines. The Vita will struggle to even achieve half of those unit sales.
