Where can I buy the cheapest (New) PS3 in the UK?

So my PS3 keeps getting the YLOD, last night I did the hairdryer trick to temporarily fix it. Got my game disc out of it, backed up my gamesaves and deactivated the system. I plan to get a new PS3 in January when my next student loan comes in.

What is the cheapest (SLIM) model I can buy? The hard drive size doesn't matter cause I'll be using the 500GB drive out of my current one with it. I'm guessing the SLIMs have a much lower failure rate? Mine was a launch 60GB model.
    Trophy-licious!

I think that i saw that Sainsburys had them for around £159. Saw it on Eurogamer the otherday. Could be worth checking there

Found a link for you. It's actually £157 from Here

If all you are after is the console then yeah the Sainsburys deal is the best right now.

Seeing as youre waiting for your next loan to come in, I'm certain that there will be better deals around that time. I got my current slim (250gb modnation bundle) for £165 on January 1st of this year from GAME

Yeah you won't really have to worry about reliability with a slim, the older fattys especially 60gb tend to fail after a few years (mine works like a dream yay) but slim has a low failure rate, buy with confidence

I found it really hard to find a PS3 at all in the UK, and I still don't really know why it was so difficult...

In the end, I found one at the Tesco website, if that helps.

Just been on the website and it says £189.99 for a slim PS3. Just got the YLOD so need to get one asap but for a good price though.

Don't use your student loan to buy yourself a PS3.
