Most Probably. I have heard talks about making a PS3 mouse (Sold Seperatly) for the PS3, from 3rd party developers. You could probably just use any regular USB mouse. Don't know what there gonna be used for, I would hope FPS games, but I guess we'll have to wait till I get some more info, or others get more info.

I didn't know that either. And most probably PS3 will support a mouse. And it will be used for internet browsing. Well, I'm just guessing. Or you know, like some of the online features Sony might have, like chat (I know you use a keyboard but yeah.)

I think I'd only buy a Bluetooth mouse if it was a trackball. I can't use a normal mouse that much anymore ever since I made the switch a couple years back

It's hard to get used to at first, but once you play over 100 hours of FPS on it, it's the best IMO. But I guess it's just what you get used to. I find it easier to control. Partly the reason I want it wireless is because a normal mouse you need a flat surface to move it on, but with a trackball it just stays in place.

there was an article in the PS3 discussion that was talking about using the USB for a keyboard and "other perihperals". I think they will have a mouse for it. if they dont and have webbrowsing, and linux on their hdd, it would be stupid not to.

I used Keyboard and mouse with my Gameshark CD for the PS2. So there is absolutely every chance possible for PS3 to utilize them as well in applications as well as games. What the heck are they gonna do with 6 USB ports anyway?

I'm sure they'll find things to do with them, extra contollers, headset, mouse, keyboard, extra memory cards etc... there are many possibilitles of what they could be for so i guess we'll have to wait and find out.

Yeh i think trackballs are great as well, im thinking of getting one soon instead of a mouse, since i have limited moving space on this desk ¬_¬ (maybe i should get a bigger one)

Plus you could probably get a faster reaction with trackballs, since you can push right into the ball for fast movements, but with a mouse, your holding on to it as well, which means you wont be putting as much attention on to accuracy (just my weird analytical guess LOL)

I think it would probably be better for games on a console, since we wont necessarily have it at a desk, so you could sit it on your lap, or on the floor or wherever you are at the time.

But it honestly depends what people prefer, i would prefer a trackball.
    I have no signature.
No, really, i don't. You're just imagining this.

I highly doubt Sony would make a bluetooth trackball, simply because most people have never heard of one. There is supposedly in production but it's always marked to sell the next month.

their will (sony) is to innovate as much as possible and i don't see a better timing to introduce this trackball mouse than with ps3. people are always talking about new hardware and innovation so that mouse would have a cool 'introduction' to the public all along with ps3

If we do see a Sony branded mouse, I imagine it'll be BlueTooth only. There will be support for USB mice, but why bother with a cord when a bluetooth mouse can run 6 months on 2 AA batteries!

Cords are a thing of the past, and the wireless controllers are proof of this. Bluetooth is too widespread of a technology to pass up.
Then the PSP included a touchscreen. Then the PSP included more ram. Then the PSP finally ditched the crappy UMD format.

And then the PSP was perfect...

I really don't want a mouse so much, that means there needs to be a space cleared in my living room for a mouse ball & I have to be sitting down near something flat, which is anoying when sitting infront of my TV on a beanbag.

a Trackball would be much better as you don't need to move the unit, you just have to scroll the ball, its not hard to get used to, after 5 minutes your motor-senses adjust and you can work it quite effortlessly.

    Re: Mouse for a Ps3?

I don't think it has been confirmed that the Xbox 360 will have Keyboard/mouse support, but I can't imagine them NOT having it. I mean, damn, that would be so cool for all the next generation systems to support keyboards and mice.

If they did, that would bring a whole new market to consoles. Most PC FPS players have only really stayed on the PC's because they love the mouse and keyboard. And they have a point. It's more accurate to use a mouse, and there are WAY more customization options with a keyboard. Those could only help consoles.

I see it pretty hard advertising internet browsing without a keyboard,

I certinally don't want to be entering URL's or filling out login in forms with an on screen keyboard, its quite painful.

But will it be packaged with the playstation 3 or will it be a seperate cost? It seems to me that a LOT of stuff is going to end up being extra with the Playstation 3, and that isn't a positive thing to me.

yes..you are right, the x360 will be bundled with loads of cool stuff and for a very good price..both companies will be loosing money on their consoles so i must stress a direct conclusion of this..ps3 must be far superior in terms of hardware. it will have a superior price when compared to x360 and it includes less peripherals, so this points to far superior hardware

[LIVE] Calling All Cars delayed once more

    LIVE: http://www.psu.com/node/10529

Despite David Jaffe's promise of a May 3rd release, it looks is if Calling All Cars has been pushed back one more time. Sony has stated that Calling All Cars has not been confirmed for release this Thursday, and Jaffe has removed the post in his blog which stated CAC had "gone gold" and would be released on May 3rd for the PlayStation 3. Here is his post on NeoGAF in which he explains the delay:

"Hey guys...Sony was kinda annoyed that I claimed 5/3 as release date as it was never official. The game got kicked out of format as two very key bugs were found at the last second. Fixing those allowed us time to go back in and fix the issue (or what we think is the issue) that IGN had with the magnet. We are back in format q/a at the moment and we'd all be stunned if it did not sail thru...but we've learned to keep our mouths shut on it so as to not get people's hopes up and then let them down. The two big bugs tho- so you realize we didn't hold it up for no reason- were:

a- About 30% of the time if the host of a network game quit to the XMB or powered off his PS3, the other folks in the game would experience a hang/crash when going back to the game lobby. This was way too frequent for a crash bug and we wanted it fixed.

b- If players were doing voice chat and one player unplugged his head set and quit out of the game, when he tried to jump into a new game, about 50% of the time the player would be able to play the game but no one could hear him over voice chat.

I hope you will agree these bugs were worth ironing out. Granted, they should have been bugs that were squashed 2 months ago, but for whatever reason, they were not. So we had to do it now.

I was trying to find a way to make it up to those who care about our game and I think what we are going to do is like the first 50 or so people who find me online and can beat me, get a free CALLING ALL CARS bobble head figure. Is that lame? Not sure. But we'll prob. do it. Cause we really do feel really, really bad.

    Sorry.

    David"

Don't feel so bad Dave, the longer you spend on the game the better it gets (ex. the magnet fix in single player).

The most probable launch date for Calling All Cars is May 10th.
I think PS3 should have a built in memory card!!!
