This thread had zero/zip/nada/nothing to do with pirating or even hacking. This is about all these nitwit Sony-haters filing all these imbecilic frivolous lawsuits followed by the chortling and razz gallery support by their fans every time it happens, then when the news comes out about the legal outcome, dull silence or let's move on here responses. There were several other lawsuits that were very busy topics here and also were thrown out or ruled against.
This particular case shows the idiocy of these lawsuits when all the fuckwit plaintiff can come up with, ultimately, is that their feelings were hurt. How emo-stupid is that? Here are these supposed guys crying and blubbering to the court that their feelings were hurt by Sony and Sony should pay them a lot of money for that. This is the whole weakness in their cry-baby self-view. They are unable to quantify exactly what the damages were from removing OtherOS capability, other than supposedly not being able to play their MAME games and the huge income lost by not being able to develop homebrew for the PS3. Hopefully, these people are not really gamers, just exploiters, but if it is an indication of this gaming generation, then it is really pathetic.

I'm not sure why you think they are Sony haters. I think the opposite of you here. If people are willing to sit idly by and allow Sony to dictate which features come and go after payment has been received, that's really pathetic. Those aren't real gamers to me, just blind followers.

Clearly they are Sony haters if they are unhappy about Sony removing features they paid for. The emo-stupid cry-baby fuckwit plaintiffs even had the audacity to ask for compensation! Anyone who used OtherOS was just an exploiter anyway. Your loyality to Sony is now in question, F34R.
As for a quantitative value, I'd say the value of a new PS3 unit, since that's the only legit, legal way to retain both features. Thats what I had to pay to continue using OtherOS while still being able to play games. Good thing I had enough money left over to buy the games I wanted.. too bad I had to buy them used.Last edited by Centurion; 12-20-2011 at 22:51.

Ugh...
I expected this result from the moment that I heard about this story. True, I am not a huge fan of being limited with something that I paid for, but I also did agree to the terms and conditions when I bought and switched on the machine. Unfair sometimes, yes. But the fact remains that you did agree to their terms of use and they can refuse to provide you with certain services left, right and center if you breach these terms and conditions.
