Well you are wrong about "if you properly break in you will have nothing to worry about". I properly broke it in for over 100hrs. Plasma tv's have temporary image retention no matter what you do. The pixels have a memory and it takes time to wipe that image. Some tv's do it faster than others. I however hate the fact that it even had retention. My LED has none of that. I baby the shit out of everything I own. So me not taking care of the tv is absolutely not the issue.
I have my pc hooked up to the tv so the retention was insane on the plasma. Nothing on the LED I have.
I also hate how much heat the damn plasma put off. It literally would heat the entire damn room.

I have pixel shifting turned on and never had an issue with my Samsung plasma. I have to admit it was a concern when I bought it, but I was willing to take the risk for much better picture quality. I should mention that I don't play a lot of games on it, but I have never had an issue with network logos burning in.
I should also mention that mine runs fairly cool. I have several components that run hotter.. Receiver, PS3, Directv DVR, etc.Last edited by uofmtiger; 12-29-2011 at 00:14.

Yes they do, it's a nature of the tech. Some more than others, but they all have it.
