Wanted to dislike a post that was made in the Multiplatform Comparison Chat area. Noticed I don't seem to have the option to do that in there.
Is this an error, or by design?
Can't seem to like either, incidentally. Wanted to like a post, too.

prolly removed the option due to the "issues with fans"; not that it has stopped some from following others around lol.

Any 'official' word on this?
Would be nice to know if it's deliberate or an error.
(Thanks for your input F34R & claud3)

I don't seem to have the ability, either. I don't recall there being any official removal of the like / dislike feature from that section, although I can understand the reasoning behind it if that is the case. I'll make sure to mention it to one of the administrators if one doesn't provide clarity soon.

it seems to come and go for members that are logged in and i know you can not see your own LIKES/DISLIKES when you are logged in. But i think its more of a loading issue than a missing option for all to use, if that makes sense

it is in other sections to, its not a massive deal or nothing. But i do see it in other sections of the forum. Is their an option to turn it of or on in any of the section the staff have control over. If so then that might be the problem maybe.
I am not stating that as fact, just thinking it could or could not be the case

I removed it for the Comparison threads because of the argumentative nature of those threads. This was also announced in a thread discussing the feature when it was first rolled out. You will notice the feature gone from some other forums as well simply because it would be a tool used to troll.

At this point, it's being just "because", which is why it wasn't going to be used in the MP section. Might as well enable it forum wide at this point.

Yeah, apparently it's infraction worthy to abuse the dislike button. Although, it appears it may rest on who's doing it to determine what's actionable.

Certain circumstances mimic trolling when someone just goes around disliking posts. That's why it's worthy of an infraction. So far, I've only seen one person do it, but there are a couple that have their own "favorites" to follow around any dislike posts seemingly arbitrarily.
