I was never interested in Syndicate. I never played the original anyway.
But XCOM: Enemy Unknown looks great.Steam & PlayStation Network: BlacksitePSU | 3DS Friend Code: 1349-4916-2054

Syndicate was awesome. You play a company that is looking for global domination. You control a 4 man squad of agents who can be enhanced with cyborg parts and given a whole array of different weaponry. After completing missions you owned territories that would then pay you taxes, which you could put into R&D to further enhance your cyborg agents and develop new weapons. One of the coolest weapons was the Indoctrinator. It let you control the minds of civilians during missions. When you had enough civis with you, you could indoctrinate police, and with enough police you could indoctrinate enemy agents who then joined your company. The civis would arm themselves too so in some missions you had an army with you. It was a game VERY much like XCOM in many regards. A true classic.

This is brilliant

As I stated earlier I'm not a massive fan of strategy games, but I played a good portion of the PC demo today was an thoroughly impressed.
I kind of want to try the 360 version too, not that I can afford the game day 1, but I'd rather have long gaming session laying back in bed as opposed to at my desk >< The graphics were good, I liked the style but nothing amazing. So I'm sure the console versions will go down fine

First review is out, game informer gave it a 9.5/10.
A Remake That Lives Up To Its Legendary Provenance
Both of XCOM’s layers present life-or-death conundrums to which there is no right answer. No matter what you pick, something or someone is going to suffer for it. This kind of tension and terror rarely occurs within mainstream gaming, and almost never with this level of skill in the execution. Don’t let the “turn-based strategy” moniker scare you off; XCOM is a singular achievement that every gamer deserves to experience.Last edited by Nuvian; 10-07-2012 at 00:38.

XCOM: Enemy Unknown and Assassin's Creed III are the only games I'm really planning on playing through this year. Both of them look like Game of the Year material.

The demo sucked because It held your hand basically the whole time instead of letting you explore the game. A tutorial mission is pointless in a demo IMO. Also I hated the camera effects, but you can turn those off so that's fine.
Other than that the game seems great.
But I really hope that you will be able to change movement speed and stuff in the full version, because it was slow as hell now and I want it faster.
