yes Europe... here is a little history of past winners from EISA:
http://www.eisa.eu/awards/history/4/video.html
I'm well aware of that. EISA is only one of many who judge and give awards for CES.Best product award doesn't have anything to do with innovation or the recognition thereof. Innovation is about driving new concepts, taking technology forward, not just creating a good product.

Don't forget about the amazing 3D virtual reality helmet.
To reminisce, I remember having a Sony Ericsson Equinox flip phone. It had video camera of 320x240 @ 30fps but the camera actually had more quality than the HD cameras on other phones. That 320x240p video could be blown up and it retained so much quality. It was insane.
If Sony made a Windows 7.5 Phone, I'd buy it in a heartbeat. But Microsoft and Sony both participate in the gaming realm so the odds are against me...

I love Sony products, but I've been buying Samsung a lot lately. Samsung is pulling ahead in a few departments. Their OLED technology is significantly more advanced than Sony's, I believe. I got a Samsung Focus with Windows OS and it's brilliant. But Samsung's new screen technology is exclusive to 4.3" screen phones right now as they have to shrink it before they can make my desired 4.0" displays.

I always buy Samsung stuff. Got their printer, TV, monitor and probably everything else I'll encounter of theirs, I'll get it without blinking.
To me they're like Sony (products are sleek yet simple, to the point and quality) but cheaper.Praise the lord! Next stop: Ni No Kuni.

Ok, I cleaned up a ton of messages.
Personally attacking a member rather than civilly debating him is wrong.
If you don't like the tone, or message in a post, report it and move on. 3 pages of trying to troll and insult the member is NOT how things should go.
If you can't stay on topic or refrain from being rude to other members, just hit the back button and go to another thread.

Just hoping it does not dry up half way through the year, where they talk the big talk and don't back it up with solid announcements of great games and add-ons for the console or Downloadable content

Thanks to Spyrde/Sylar

SourceRemember when Sony said Virtual Reality was coming back ?strong?? It turns out they were dead-serious about it, so much so that they?re actively developing and experimenting with the tech within its studios.
In a recent interview, Mick Hocking, senior director of Sony Worldwide Studios, revealed that an actual working prototype used to test Virtual Reality technology also displays 3D.
Hocking that they showed off a new head-mounted display (that?s still under-development) at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES). The prototype device has twin-OLED screens, that?s one for each eye to eliminate ?crossover? issues.
The prototype unit does look sexy, I admit.

In related, but more exciting news, Sony also says that further development of the device has led to Sony in implementing head-tracking into it. Now, that?s really a Virtual Reality experience!
The technology is currently being experimented on with a number of different games ? one of them a first-person shooter.
Don?t get too excited though, there aren?t solid launch plans for the device just yet, and head-tracking is still very much being worked on at Sony?s R&D facilities.
At the moment it?s just a head-mounted display; the head isn't being tracked ? but that?s something we?re doing R&D on.I have to say, what we?ve done in the R&D projects has just been fantastic. We?re working with a couple of games at Sony that are experimenting with virtual reality type experiences.Mick Hocking, senior director of Sony Worldwide Studios on VR head-tracking & games
Is this something you?d want to be in Sony?s next console? If they can pull this off right, I wouldn?t say no to it, even if I do look a bit goofy wearing it
I assume they are referring to the HMZ-T1. While at the moment it is just a head mounted display, they have it working with head tracking and are even experimenting with a FPS. Like now, they will have the tech AND the games to back it up.
Killzone 5 in 3D virtual reality with head turning sensors + Move and Sharpshooter 2.0...Yes please!Last edited by Ghost-Rhayne; 01-18-2012 at 15:58.
