I am talking about that one special game that caused you to play it hours and once you looked at the clock you couldn't believe 4+ hours have passed. That one special game that made you zone out due to atmosphere or whatever. What was it?

gta SA( this was a real time waster for me) would be my main ONE that i spent a lot of time on,
skyrim( only for the first 80 or so hours, now i dont really feel like it) and BFBC1 had also made me lose track of time.

SuperMario World, SNES. Actually, there's quite a few NES/SNES games that when I first experienced them, there were marathon sessions. I remember hammering through the SMB series games, Star Wars (SNES) games, and many more.

I can't get enough. I have some really cool characters developed and in their position of power (mage as arch mage at college, thief/sin as thief guildmaster etc for when the DLC expands upon and improves on existing content. I will pour hundreds of hours into this game over the coming years.

I think it's Fallout 3 for me.
I love how you'll be travelling to an objective and come across a new town and get sidetracked for a couple of hours. Then you look at the time and it's somehow 2am when you started playing at like 9pm. I've put about 100 hours into it, and there's still plenty left for me to do.

Civilization 3, I can vividly remember the first night I had that experience. I was in college and had only been playing it for a week or so. One night I finally had a good civ going and kept saying to myself just another 30 min. 11:30, 12, 12:30, 1, 1:30....wait are those birds? 5am I've never felt so great and horrible at the same time, and I still didn't finish the game.

I really can't decide between Final Fantasy IX and the enhanced Nintendo Gamecube port of Skies of Arcadia. Both video games did an amazing job of pulling me in with their compelling stories, cast of characters, atmosphere, gameplay and music. For the current-generation of home consoles, I'd have to say Portal 2.
