Sources: NeoGAF, AnaloghypePlayStation Network, the service that PlayStation users have come to know and love, will soon be a thing of the past. On February 8, 2012 Sony will take the final step to unifying their online services by introducing it’s users to the Sony Entertainment Network, or SEN for short. The SEN will take place of the PSN, the online gaming service that Sony launched alongside their PlayStation 3 on November 11, 2006. This name change is Sony’s way of getting closer to their goal of “ establishing a global comprehensive network platform of services across games, movies, music and more, all accessible from one convenient account.”This change is just a name change, Sony will not require you to alter your current PSN ID or password. The PS3 and Vita will receive a System Software Update that will introduce a new TOS (Terms of Service) before users can gain access to the Sony Entertainment Network.Sony is currently in the process of sending out e-mails to all PSN users that will alert them of this new change. If you haven’t already received this e-mail, a glimpse at the text in it can be found below.![]()
Sounds interesting. Personally, I would have nothing against this change. More and more companies are beginning to tie all of their services under one simple, discrete name. While I don't think "SEN" will ever catch on as much as "PSN", I like the sound of "Sony Entertainment Network". Perhaps the linkage between PSN and the rest of Sony's services will mean we'll see some cool (or horrid) changes made to the service in the coming months.

This is the culmination of what Sony have been going on about for ages. It is going to be epic having access to all their content from one account, all through the PS3, PSP, Vita, TVs etc.

Syncing my home PC music library to the cloud is nice.

Cool, I didn't know you could do that. Syncing your own songs to the cloud is pretty awesome.
On the Vita, it would be amazing if they would let it substitute having to store songs on the actual memory stick, and use MU app for in-game custom music! Quite a lot of the Vita games support in-game music playback from the memory stick...so being able to do it over the cloud via MU would be amazing

not as big as sony....and seeing how sony is always getting targeted on these attacks....should be fun to watch. am only limiting my services to ps+ and the playstation network
^^ thats what a JB/hacked ps Vita will enable...sony will want to milk there proprietary cards before offering a cloud based streaming like thatLast edited by YoungMullah88; 02-04-2012 at 20:10.

Don't update the name, pointless. Update the friggin system itself. When was the last really good update we got? 18 months? 2 years? Give us a makeover to the UI, its dated and boring.

I don't mind it but I got used to saying PSN so much it'll probably take a while for me to finally get used to calling it SEN.
