Am I the only one who is still seeing the PSN logo/name? I thought it was supposed to change to that new logo that they use for Qriosity?

I think the PSN is staying it had become part of the SEN. The PSN its the gaming part.

Because Sony isn't good at making OS yet. MS has had decades of experience.

Though the updates are getting faster for me than slower...used to be about 10 minutes, now it's like 2-3 mins.

I've heard the 360 does it in the background...which is amazing.

when people put their slow speed down to the PS3 and then compare it to 360
like oh its a about a hour to download a 1.6gb demo, but take 30min on 360, and then you download the exact same thing on PS3 in 8min

99/100 the PSN content does download slower for me than XBL content. Patches are also much larger on PSN and have matching install times. I am not alone on this. I have a 60mb connection.

That said, PSN is FAR improved compared to 2006.

I'm getting upgraded to 60mb, thou my 30 is/must be faster then ya 60mb
Thou I was referring to download speed not installs which is more of a harddrive related problem then anything to do with PSN
Thou ya right, we shouldn't have to install
But minus stuff I manually download my PS3 automatically does my downloads,updates,installs everyday at 4am, so it ain't bothered me.

They seemed to have updated the official 7.1 headset too. my voice is coming through the speakers. that was my only complaint about it not having that but now it does. only works in game. i owned the turtle beach px5, now i can say this is better for the price.

I was just going to make this same comment. It startled me at first, I thought something was wrong with my headset, before realizing that that sound in my ear was me. lol

Have you noticed any difference in the surround sound for movies? I read somewhere they were going to improve that at some point, but I have not tried it yet.

If your PSN downloads are slow it's probably more due to your area's connection these days more than it is anything to do with sony. As for complaints about installing things, seriously just go back to playing SNES games or something. The harddrive was meant to be used for network features and installs otherwise they wouldnt give you the ability to switch to larger drives to contain content. If you can't stand using it for more than downloading porn or bootleg movies then you should really reconsider your purchasing habits.

A 60Mbps(I assume you mean Mbps) connection wont do much if you connect with wifi which tops around 20Mbps. Not that PSN will top 20Mbps on wifi.

You are right though, XBL does download content faster, at least just now that I tested it. Although we got to give PSN the fact that it just got updated and there is more traffic there atm.

But system/game updates? yeah, no comparison. It's night and day. Couple that with a HDD install and you got a "buzzkill" on the PS3 while you don't even think about it on the 360.

If I connect an ethernet to the PS3 the "Internet test" does show 80Mbps download speed but when downloading a demo it wont go any faster than 25Mbps at best. At least right now.

Other than that, yes PS+ auto-downloads do help mitigate the issue.

it will probably happen once everything gets set in stone. Is it possible this quick working here is the cause of Kaz, making the playstation network accessible to all Sony devices out there? I wonder if this is the doing of Kaz.

I dont understand people who uses the ps3 browser.It is so unconfortable.

There nothing too much wrong with it. It is very effective and works well. And atleast there is the option for browsing as opposed to no browsing on xbox. I've used the browser so many times.
And btw if everyone had the same attitude as "whats the point?" countless innovations would have never been made.
