Very Poor Return For PS+ In My Opinion

I bought the PS+ extra in January due to the sale it was having on it for membership and so far the weekly updates for it have been seriously poor only thing I have gotten out of it was the whole Back to the Future Episodes 1-5, they even recycled Sonic 1, 2, Comix Zone, Altered Beast & Golden Axe from last year. Has anyone else re-newed or bought it like me how are you finding it so far I know Far Cry 2 is out next week for FREE on PS+ but we all know thats Ubisoft getting everyone ready for FC3.

It had it's highs and lows. Had it not automatically renewed I would not have had it this year.

Yeah, it has its high and low times. When I see upcoming deals that look good I buy the 90 day sub and when there isnt much then I let it lapse. I'm one of the very few on this forum that enjoyed FC2 so it will be kind of cool to play it again for free since I traded in my copy ages ago.

i've had more than my moneys worth out of PS+ so far, not only have i had games that i didn't buy when they came out (old stuff from megadrive/PS1/PSN etc.) but even full PS3 games that i was too tight to buy like saints row 2, and i'll be getting FC2 with a smile on my face thank you, i don't care if its trying to sell FC3 to me, i will wait for that too

not to mention the discounts, themes, betas, minis and game trials on top of the free games!

£40 for 15 months of free/cheap stuff has been well worth it for me, i understand that it may not be the case for people that buy everything under the sun on day one, but many people don't do that and this is a good way to catch up on games for free.

Since I've had it I've gotten quite a few good ps3/psn/mini games that I'm glad I have the option of playing, such as tomb raider, all the PS1 crash games and others, marvel pinball, crash commando, where is my heart? etc. As well as discounts on sale items; purchased FF6-9 and got 5 for free this month

It's been OK, I'd say it's a 7/10 and the quality of the above games are enough to warrant the 11 or so pounds I spent on a 3 month sub IMO

The deciding factor for my long term subscription to Plus will be if they will have offers and discounts for Vita content in the future

I agree. If Sony implements offers and discounts for Vita I would most likely become a long term subscriber.

I used to defend PS+ like this when I had it. But after my initial year lapsed I didn't renew. I was kind of waiting for a good offer like a free game when you sub, but nothing came along that I fancied. As the months have passed I always check out the PS+ blog entry and to be honest it's pitiful. (EU btw, I don't know about America, but the EU guys are always moaning about what the US gets).
So I'm glad I haven't re-subbed, but I will always consider it if something tasty comes along.

Edit: Also, thinking back, I don't think I actually played much that was offered. I downloaded pretty much everything, but never used it. Tbh it's a waste of money for me. To each his own though.

You cant expect every week/month to be full of awesome games that appeal to you. I've gotten quite a few "free" games that I use to want but for some reason never bought. Most games they give are not as bad as you think, think I've only gotten two or three games that I absolutely hated and wish I didnt start. lol

I'm sure everyone knows that, infact doesnt it tell you before each download? I still think PS+ is worth it, I mean my discounts I got is in the high $30s now, and considering I played three games I originally wanted but never bought.. I consider I got my moneys worth along time ago.. As long as I play and beat all the games before my years up. Right now, I plan to renew - as long as I got the spare income to do so.

For me, it wasn't worth it. I tried it for 6 months and saw no value, due to my personal tastes. A friend of mine lives and breathes for the PSN+ deals, and it is indeed something that works for others.

It seems worth it to me. Last night I got The Simpsons Arcade Game and Final Fantasy V for free. Seriously, $50 for a whole year is nothing. I eat that for lunch every week.

I see that comparison done a lot - I do X for more a week, etc. For you, you get something you enjoy out of it. So it makes sense. Money isn't the issue, so $50 a year for anything is trivial at best. The issue for me is whether I get anything I enjoy in return for that money. I'm not in the habit of just giving money out to companies. I need something in return. PS+, for me, doesn't provide that return.

It's worth it, heck, one of the best deals they have had in my view was Resident Evil 4 HD half price off and then one month they had the Spyro Trilogy for free. I just don't have money to spend like I want to.

If i was in the US or UK i might consider it but as i've mentioned a few times the store here in germany is a joke.
So many games are cut or never appear at all so PS+ only gives me games that i would never buy usually.

I'm better of spending the 50 bucks for 1 or 2 retail games...

Other than that I renewed my sub this year during the sale. And as a PS+ supporter I got to admit 2012 hadn't been very impressive yet. I do appreciate auto-downloads though, and hope the year will get better.

its been doing it for ages, thou it is a refurb & my other never did it
but it is a quieter system & I had no problems with it, just the once in a bluemoon squealy beep, & its different every time...
