    If thats how he really feels about rpg's then he either got fired or is about to be.
    He also just became my favorite employe at SE.

    Vaan and Penelo sucked, but the rest of the cast, especially the side-characters and villains, were very cool. You could tell that Vaan and Penelo were simply thrown in to "appeal to the target audience". Tisk tisk...

    Balthier is probably one of my most favorite FF characters. He is the Han Solo of Final Fantasy, while Fran was Chewbacca (albeit a terribly sexy one )

    You know, when we talk about things we didn't like about any particular FF title (XIII being the most obvious example), we come up with a list of features that we think will make the game awesome, but you know what, features don't make a game, it's the game that makes the features. Thinking about, for example, FF VII, even if there was no chocobo racing, no summons, no Ruby weapon, etc. the game would still be exceptional. Look at XIII-2, it's meant to fix what XIII did wrong, but it's still not a game many people would rank with the best of the series.

    An example would be music. You can't take an average song, add a guitar solo and groovy drums and all of a sudden you have the best song ever. It has to be the whole package, the whole design. If something is born wrong, it's never gonna be excellent.

    So if I want anything back for XV, I'd say I want whatever made the old games so special to be back. Not features in particular, but the feel they used to have.

    That's why FFXIII was linear because it was connected to the storyline.

    I wasn't talking about about story in particular, but even then, this is a poor excuse. FF games in the past were able to tell a good story (which XIII didn't have) in a non-linear fashion.

    With all of the Final Fantasy titles Square Enix are working on right now, I think it's quite possible that Final Fantasy XV will mark the series' jump to next-gen consoles. The only thing that bugs me about this notion is that if it took this long for Square Enix to release Final Fantasy XIII and even longer to release Versus XIII because of resources being set aside for other projects, then I can't fathom how long it would take them to develop the next big title in the series.

    I know I've said before that I would wait if the title was like Final Fantasy IX (because it's my favorite title in the series) but they need to get their priorities in order and cut down on the amount of games being developed.
