    UK internets

I need a new ISP my current one BE has done me good been with them since 2008 and were one of the fastest and cheapest £17.50 for 24Mbit ADSL2+ and unlimited downloads usually those speeds were only heard of on cable but now in 2012 everyone offers at least 20Mbit and higher for cheaper and even with unimited caps the final nail is my current problem of packet loss which has been happening since Saturday to my knowledge and even earlier for others.

Seriously debating BT infinity to put all my calls and broadband on one bill and scoop extra savigns plus super fast 100Mbit download if its available only problem is Fibre isnt available in my area until March 15th so BT checker says.

What other ISP provide Fibre in the UK?

Browsing this site and many other is a pain and can tke many refreshes until it loads up yet others load up as normal.

We need an upgrade too. Our DSL has been incredibly reliable, but the speeds aren’t the best, especially upstream which is extra critical for my needs.

FIOS isn’t available out here yet, and the other option is AT&T “U-verse”, which is basically a cable based product (though it’s still not spectacular upstream). Our DSL is also AT&T, so that’s a plus, not having to change providers. What I need is like a business class connection, mostly for the support side. The few times I have had problems, I’ve had to talk my way past general consumer support (“What operating system do your have sir?” ) and make sure they know this isn’t about not being able to login to Facebook, but slightly more mission critical.

*sigh* Just another of the 10,000 projects I have in my queue...

I'm with Virgin and never really had any problems with them. In fact we had a letter recently saying our internet speed is going to be increased. Win.

Im with Virgin on the 100mb package & they're going to increase it to 120mb in a few months for free.....win!

BT & Virgin are the only companies that offer fibre optic in the UK in the minute.

We switched from Sky BB to BT Infinity last November.

My download on Steam the last time I saw it, topped @ 4.3MB/s
I did have some issues when browsing here on PSU at the beginning of last month, the site just keeps timing out but when I tried on my phone via 3G, it loads up pretty quickly.

Haven't had that issue since though.

Oh and another reason we switched, is because of the Unlimited WiFi via BT Fon/Openworld. Haven't tried it internationally yet but it works pretty well in the UK.

Yeah, it is. All their packages are unlimited though, which is good... but I still find it's a bit expensive.

We're on 50mb at the moment, and like people have said they're doubling everyone throughout this year. So once they've done that we'll probably drop back down to 50mb and it should be cheaper.
