This has been debunked by Ubisoft. Nothing has been confirmed and they have stated that the release schedule is inaccurate:

Though the new Splinter Cell is of more importance to me.

Yes it is. It's based around the link between the original assassins at Alamut and the crusade orders and references are made to that in AC2. It even makes references to that in one of the startup screens. Where does Asian history tie into that? Was there a Templar crusader castle there you can enlighten us to? Some Eden legends? Italy had a lot of involvement in the crusades. Unless you discount the Roman Catholic church being based out of there right?

I disagree. The amount of time between games does not dictate how much anticipation i have for the game. The anticipation comes from weather or not i enjoyed the previous games to want the next instalment.
Incorrect, Ubisoft confirmed it would be launched this OctoberI Like Games.

From what I've read around the web there is a lot of brand fatigue associated with Assassin's Creed, but I for one love the series and don't mind at all if they released them annually -- providing the quality is still there. Personally I think the games were brilliant, and didn't suffer in quality at all, but as I said, others disagreed.
Anyway, ACIII is definitely an exciting prospect as far as i'm concerned, and the fact Ubisoft has been working on the game for three years is enough to tell me they've made some significant advancements to the formula. Can't wait to see where the game will be set -- i'm hoping for Victorian London!

Very miniscule side note, not really relevant to the actual story location setting itself.

It's coming out on my birthday!
WIN!It seems as if every other Spartan in the Halo universe is cooler and more interesting than Master Chief, yet they all died at the beginning of Halo 1.

I think they will introduce another ancestor and that you'll play as Desmond every once in a while like in all the AC's so far. It would be . . . strange if the animus was not used. But, who knows?
Awww! Little baby bunny! <3

Currently Playing: Assassin's Creed III (PS3)

Yep, looking forward to this game. Brotherhood and Revelations were good but I think AC3 is what everyone has really been waiting for since AC2 ended!
