Alan Wake for PC took the road less traveled to launch, but all those yellow bricks are made of gold from here on out. Developer Remedy, which was also the publisher of the PC version, revealed the game recouped its development and marketing expenses during "the first 48 hours" after launch on February 16.
"We are very happy with the sales and hitting #1 on Steam at launch was nothing short of amazing," Remedy's Aki Järvilehto noted on the game's forum.
Alan Wake returns this week to Xbox Live Arcade in mini-sequel Alan Wake's American Nightmare, which fans of the series will want to pick up. Thankfully, American Nightmare won't be the end of Wake's adventures on consoles, PC or any other future platform the writer finds himself surviving on.

Thank goodness it was just a simple port over. Otherwise Remedy would be in trouble, especially selling the game at only $30. It's saddening to know that PC is not as profitable as it used to be. Pirates be damned...

Why would that matter? It is still the same game. Whether I played it two years ago, or today, the game or experience doesn't change. Looks like it was a success on PC and 360.
As long as it is on the 360 as well. If not, then bye bye Alan Wake.I hope they release american nightmares on steam and if any other AW games come to the PC, bye bye 360!

Yeah, the camera was a little weird at first, but I don't even notice it now.

I guess I can do that because I if I set it up like that, I'll be getting 1fps - perfect for stills!!! ROFL>

My PC can JUST handle everything on max at 1080P at 30FPS. Lower a few things to get a nice constant 60 though.
